Will these work on a carbon fiber hood?

Yes, it’s a difficult install but it would work. Depending on the thickness you may need to add a few layers of glass or carbon cloth. Once you cut the hole make a decision.

Quality of operation

Very good quality both finish and operation. The cheaper version was 1/6th of the price but will probably also last only 1/6th of the lifetime of this more expensive version.. steel posts instead of aluminium. Good robust operating mechanism.
