Q: I'm new to RVing. Could the same be done with a garden hose? I have a Suburban suburban SW6D-type.

You attach a garden hose to the Tank Rinser. The narrow extension serves two purposes. First, it allows you to get in the water heater where a garden hose itself may not fit. It can then be maneuvered inside the water heater to clean more of the surface. Second, the smaller opening creates more water pressure then you would get from a garden hose.
