Decent book 2
Physical Book Condition: The outward appearance of the book seemed fine. There were no scuffs or dents or tears on the cover or the pages. It was brand new which is what I ordered. The actual printing however could've been a little better. Some pages the words seemed to be blurred a little or just not printed that well. The page numbers at least matched the table of contents this time. There were also less grammatical errors this time which made it easier to focus on the book. After having read all five books, I believe these were all independently published without an editor to check each of them because they all had some kind of issues.Book Review: Amazon doesn't let me list them, but make sure you check the trigger warnings before reading this book in case the content is too dark for you.The writing still felt rather elementary in the way it described things or the way in which things were worded just like in the first book. What I did enjoy about this second installment was that we got to know the characters better. Since the ground work was laid, the author was able to delve a little deeper into why the characters thought and acted the way they did and the ways in which they had changed since the start of all of this. We get more history on them which added a nice plot twist to it near the end. That was one I didn’t see coming until the moment was upon us. I was expecting something different so that was a nice surprise. I appreciate Tristan’s character in that he’s slowly starting to open up more and show emotion. All the just staring and quietness could be so frustrating at times, even when I did understand it from the POV of what his character had been through. I can at least say this book doesn’t feel like the one only true connection they have to each other is the s**ual tension. They have both provided a safe space for one another and been a rock when either one of them needed it in that moment. Still not as much spice as I was expecting from the way people talked about this book. It was there don’t get me wrong, but I still was just expecting more I guess. There was a little more action and suspense to this book while at the same time building onto the mystery that leads into book three. I like that the books flowed seamlessly into one another without any weird time jumps. I still plan on finishing out this series and am looking forward to seeing what happens next. Since I wasn’t so distracted by grammatical errors this time around and I did finish it rather quickly, I can give this book four stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 🌶️🌶️ - (1.5 spice)

Tristian can just take my heart and run with it
“Whispered words in the shadows aren’t who I am. I’m still a monster.”🖤🖤🖤Trope: dark romance, mafiaCliffhanger: No (but story continues)POV: third person📖 Book Scores:Predator ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Reaper ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️____________________________ReviewTristian can just take my heart and run with it at this point. I can’t even begin to say how much I loved these books. I decided to review them together as I felt like Tristian and Morana’s story was just so unfinished in The Predator. I had a feeling that Runyx would not hold back in the next book...and she did not!The Predator spends a bit of more time setting up this new world in which Dark Verse series plays out. We learn about the characters and two mafia families. However, we still get some intense intimate moments, and suspense. In The Reaper we get more romance. Both books were action packed, with twists, mystery and delicious mafia men. I was entertained the entire time and really had no idea where the story was going until it all played out.Now onto the characters. The connection between Morana and Tristian was so believable, natural and intense. Tristian is everything you want from a broody, quiet, possessive alpha mafia man. He basically had to learn how to love and express it. And Morana- feisty, nerdy, loyal, so smart and just doesn’t take crap from anyone. I loved her strength and wit. They were just an absolute perfect match! I loved how intertwined their history is and how both of them for the first time really have someone on their side, ready to fight for them and kill for them if needed. We also get to meet Amara and Dante, who were great compliments to the story. Of course they get their own next book and I am dying to find out about their history. I feel like there is so much more to Dante than I expect. Now Runyx please tell me we get to see more of Tristian!?! Him as a dad?!? Swoon
