For the price of the MIT and 15 minutes in the garage I got more zip, maybe 1 MPG and a little growl under the hood.
The product is as advertised and was delivered in two days. Installation was quick and easy. I ordered for my 2003 Avalanche Z66 that I mostly drive in a mid size town with moderate to heavy traffic. Lots of starting and stopping rarely getting much over 50 mph or over a mile without stopping for a light or something. I don't drive it hard but run with the flow of traffic. This truck is well maintained and totally stock with original tire size on it and about 130,000 miles. I am still using the stock air box and filter. I always have between 4 and 5 hundred pounds in the back as I use it as a work truck, I was hoping to add a little zip and maybe improve mpg a bit. I disconnected the battery to let the computer get a fresh baseline while I was installing. After about 180 miles of driving my normal routine the truck does seem more responsive and I don't have to push the accelerator quite as far to run with the flow of traffic. It goes through the gears a little quicker and is a little zippier than before. Although I know they are not always accurate the computer is reporting average 14.2 mpg against a about a flat 13 before. I got on the highway today for a few miles and was able to get into the throttle little bit and you can now certainly hear the engine drawing air as you accelerate hard. To summarize, For the price of the MIT and 15 minutes in the garage I got more zip, maybe 1 MPG and a little growl under the hood.

Right fit, does what it says
Fit right on, 5 minutes install. I drive the same route each day, so with this intake tube it does seem to have increased the HP/tq that the stop sign to 60mph seems to pick up faster. Not full throttle, just normal driving. So the advertised 7hp probably correct. There is increased intake flow noise at full throttle and rpms. But not noticable at normal driving. Mpg I'll see as I put more gas through. On a 2003 cat eye Chevy, 4.8 V8.

Looks good. Good sound.
Easy to install. Don’t expect much. But I will say it does have a little faster response when hitting the gas pedal. And of course when you get on it there’s a little more whoooomp sound under the hood sounds good. Haven’t noticed a mileage difference yet. I am using a performance drop in air filter as well. It does seem like it gets up to speed a little faster.

Easy install, high RPM growl
Airiad's website is a total mess, and very outdated. The box come stating this only fit 2007 Gm vehicles with a 6.0, but the instruction sheet included said it fits the 99-06 Gm 5.3 haha. Airiad needs to get thier act together. Install was a simple 10 minute excercise. I could tell the fit and finish was pretty shoddy, on the trimming, but everything fits as it should PN 200-912 fits out 2004 Chevy 1500 with the 5.3 perfectly. These setups are all prettymu chthe same. GM used the same airbox and intake manifold for all the LS based truck engines. Noticed a good high RPM growl and maybe some throttle response pickup.

perfect
Fit & finish super. This is what should have come from the factory. There was no need to have the huge and wastefull unit that GM used on a number of vehicles that have the same basic air box intake configuration that was used on a number of different sized motors. The Airaid unit fit perfectly and all the materials used were of the highest quality. It looks "FACTORY" and actually flows over 400 cfm more than the factory unit. In addition, if used in conjunction with a high flow, non-disposable air filter such as Airaid or K&N.When installed together you should expect better performance and a slight increase in MPG's ! The unit was very easy to install using only a flat tip screw driver! I highly recommend this product!

It's worth it to me for the sound alone!
If you need instructions for this simple add-on, you likely read the instructions for toilet paper. Bolted it on my 2003 5.3L Silverado in 10 minutes, with much of my time being spent cursing about dropping my tools into the truck bay. Unhook your battery to let the computer reset once install is complete, clean off your MAF with cleaner while you're at it. With a paper filter this M.I.T. added to my truck's acceleration quite a bit by my wife and I's butt dyno calculations. It has a nice little grumble to it during excited driving, hopefully slightly more so when my new reusable filter comes in. So far I love this thing, and don't regret NOT BUYING my 3rd K&N CAI to one of my vehicles. I will update with fuel mileage once paired with new filter.

Wrong size boot
Arrived a day early. Very easy to install. Truck runs better. I cut the factory boot and doubled it up to make it work. I just want the correct size boot so it is installed correctly. There was an opened bag inside so maybe there the boots were accidently swapped. Extremely hard to contact Amazon to just ask for the boot. I was forced to post this. Hope they help me resolve this so i can take this down.
