Rowntrees Desert Pastilles, 139g

My favourite flavours and a lovely change from the norm.

If you can resist them these are lovely but if you cant resist them well you have probably just gained half a kilogra. Yes too delicious to stop and just one or two

I had high hopes for these sweets, the dessert flavours sounded appetising. They do have a good fruit pastille texture, satisfyingly chewy with the signature sugar coating; very reminiscent of Rowntrees fruit pastilles I had (too many of) as a child.But the flavours here tasted very standard to me; fruity without the “extra” so it’s just apple, not apple crumble; just blueberry, not blueberry pie... The cherry bakewell has a good likeness but overall a bit disappointing as the sweets are missing that warm buttery taste that you’d associate with pie and crumble desserts.So, perfectly fine as far as fruity jelly sweets go, just don’t expect a more indulgent flavour... They are vegan though, made using natural flavours and colours and inexpensive, all plus points for me. All of Rowntrees fruits pastilles are now vegan by the way; might give their standard fruit flavours a try next time I want fruity sweets.

I love Rowntrees pastilles in any case. The desert pastilles take it up another layer - apple crumble is my favourite. Would buy again and again......

Did not enjoy these at all, the only nice ones were the blueberry. The original fruit pastels are much nicer.

These were great, the kids loved them after tea they were gone within 10 minutes. We don't really have too many sweets but these were great, definitely different from other flavours!

If you like odd mix of flavours whilst spiking your blood sugar why not try these?

It kinda ruins the memories if those traditional desserts flavour.
