The purple is fake, but the sandpaper is great. Yes, they just add color to make you think this is something special (like maybe Heisenberg's sandpaper), but it IS very good grip. Lasts much longer than cheapo stuff. Maybe if you sand for a living, you can find a better deal, but a few sheets of this last most of us a LONG time.

This sandpaper will last and last and last. I do a lot of woodworking and am very picky about my sandpapers. I purchase this and cut them in 4 pieces to load into my Orbital Sander. Or I cover sandpaper sponges to increase the longevity of my sponges. I have a 65 year old house with many paint layers to strip. These papers are a workhorse and do not tear easily. Worth the cost.
