Optimum Nutrition Opti-Men Daily Multivitamin for Men, Immune Support Supplement with Amino Acids, 80 Day Supply, 240 Count, (Packaging May Vary)

Couple years back, I could buy 240 tablets of Opti-men for $36, but now they are $62!!!! They are good, but not that good. I know cyanocobalamin (B12) is deemed safe, but I’d rather take a something that doesn’t release cyanide into my body. Not good for the kidneys. Green tea, sorry y’all, it’s got lead in it. The more finely ground the greater the exposure. Sounds good looking at it on the label, but dig a little deeper into these ingredients. What level of ingesting a poison is acceptable for you? I guess that is subjective. Their “Phyto Men Blend” is no more than a gimmick. No? Look up recommended daily doses of each of those ingredients (doses that begin to have a plausible effect), you’ll see what I mean. Their amount is so minuscule that I would be stunned if it did anything other than fluff the label’s supplement facts, and bend the ignorant individual's eye into believing that what they are taking has some significant relevance to their health. Same goes with their “Viri Men Blend”. No mcg or mg per ingredients are listed for their “Men Blends”. 🤔 hmmm, wonder why? Remember that supplements are not FDA verified, so any brand could report whatever they like, but doesn’t mean it exists. ON is legit, or at least they were when I heavily researched them years ago, so most likely they do include all the ingredients listed on the label. Their “Men Blends” have me questioning though. They could add a pinch of whatever expensive ingredients to a huge vat of their mixture and call it a day and list it on the label. More than likely their total mg in their “Blends” is top heavy with the least expensive ingredients. Hey, they are out their to make a buck, do ya blame ‘em? I digress, for $62. Naw, I’m done. I have been buying Opti-men for about 15 years, give or take. They started out as an honest, no frills company but evolved into a money hungry machine like the rest. I’m trying out life extensions. Highly recommended and reviewed, at a fraction of the cost of ON. Lastly, their included BCAA’s is tiny compared to the amount needed for any efficacy. Also, BCAA’s need to be timed just right for maximum effectiveness. But don’t listen to me. Just a very well educated retired RN that studied nutrition to a fault, especially with respect to exercise (both gains and losses). Hey, it’s your $, do what makes ya feel happy.

I have been an Optimum Nutrition (ON) customer for +10 years. Most recently I've been using Opti-Men for the better part of +5 years. The recent change they made to the product has resulted in me discontinuing use and looking for a replacement multi-vitamin. In full disclosure, I have not discontinued using the other ON products I use, just Opti-Men. I began to notice two things several months ago: (1) that the new bottles of Opti-Men I was getting had an overwhelming scent of urine (specifically cat urine) and (2) I felt excessively nauseous after taking Opti-Men. Naturally, the first few times I wrote the nausea off as something other than Opti-Men. After a few days I began to change things up. Be mindful I had been using their product for years at this point and established a routine that yielded my benchmark norm. When I eventually isolated it to Opti-Men, I reached out to ON customer service to inquire about the issues I was having. They responded that the pill coating was recently changed and the new aqueous coating will have a different color and smell. ON's customer service was direct and prompt in their response, however, unfortunately it won't change my discontinued use of Opti-Men. ON, hopefully the benefit(s) of the coating change outweigh the loss of business. Should the day come when the coating is changed back to the old formula or a new one that doesn't have the same impact, I would resume use. I was a big fan of Opti-Men and would recommend on a regular basis. Sad to see the change.

At first, these were great. No taste, fairly cheap and backed by the trusted Optimum Nutrition Brand. But then after a month or two, they begin to split. Little bits at first, just a popped edge here or there and I keep taking them as I paid for them and a vitamin is a vitamin even if it has some cracks. Over time these cracks keep getting bigger and bigger until they begin to look like flechettes, just razorblades tacked to the outside of a pill, but of course I keep taking them. Eventually one morning as usual I try to slam the reccomended 3 down, and instead of going one of them uses its vitamin hardened blades to grab onto my throat. And I stand there choking in my kitchen wondering if this is how I die; Not in Afghanistan, or a car crash but to a little pill that decided it wished to become a ball of blades caught in my throat. As you can tell I didn't die, It went down and my throat hurt for like two days. If you feel like playing Russian roulette without needing to get the background check for a revolver I highly recommend these Vitamins.

I have bought these same vitamins a few times and have had no complaints (which is why I continue to buy them). However, the most recent pack I bought was different. The first thing I noticed was the strong smell when I opened them. Not sure how to describe it, but a generally unpleasant, unnatural smell. When I looked at the vitamins, I was very concerned that some of them were very pale and split apart, as if they had become desiccated somehow and had started to crack. In the attached picture, you can see the difference between the good pills and the bad pills. I threw those bad ones out, but there were quite a few in the bottle. I decided that it did not seem safe to take them as I did not know what caused some of the pills to 'spoil' (not sure if that is what happened, but I was not going to be the guinea pig to find out!) or what the strong smell was. I ended up throwing out the bottle. I am very disappointed in this, as I had used them for a while. If the quality is inconsistent, I feel that defeats the purpose of taking a multivitamin in the first place.

Bought 240tablets in Aug 2023, only to realise that the bottle expires in Nov 2023!! How do you expect me to finish 240 tablets in 3 months?
