Art of Coloring: Disney Animals: 100 Images to Inspire Creativity and Relaxation Hardcover – Coloring Book, July 19, 2016

This hardcover coloring book is beautiful from the inside out. Very much unlike regular children's coloring books, this one has intricate and unique designs (I'm confused about how one might mistake this as lazy). You can choose to use single colors to cover a large amount of detail at a time, or challenge yourself and fill in each detail separately. Either way, the pictures come out looking great. You'll want to keep your colored pencils sharpened or use small-tipped pens/markers (a brand that will not bleed through) if you plan on working on the details. The pages are not perforated and are bound into the hardcover, so tearing them out is not an option. The book gives a good variety of characters (from more than 16 different Disney films) from familiar currents to nostalgic classics. My favorite page would definitely be the one with the little oysters. I'm hoping they'll come out with anther book, this time with Oliver and Company!This book is great for: Artists of all ages but especially those that like to spend time on detail.This book isn't so great for: People who prefer simplistic images such as those found in typical children's coloring books or those who get frustrated with detail, those who prefer to work with large markers that have the potential to bleed, those who prefer to tear out their pages.Side note: I find it pretty funny how many of the reviewers are perplexed by the idea of the Beast being portrayed as a villian. He was arrogant, selfish, and hot-headed for a good portion of the film (much like Gaston) and while in his animal form. Yet, some people here act as if Disney has banned him from being categorized as a good guy. Should we ignore his past and overlook his progression which portrayed the overall lesson in the film, only to focus on his hero-like qualities? Come on, guys.

The media could not be loaded. Beautiful book. Mine came Bent on the corners of the book. I got the hardcover.However, it doesn't affect the fact that the pictures are gorgeous and I'm still able to color it.I'm pretty sure I'm going to put the book through much more trauma lol so no biggie. I suggest using Jel Pens.

If I could give this a 10-star, I would. I'm a huge Disney fan. So excited I've been recently getting into the art of coloring. I have the first book by this wonderful author. The first book was with Disney Princesses, and I loved it. The Disney princess book is almost a beginner adult coloring book. I really enjoyed it. This is a hard covered coloring book. This coloring book seems to be a little more advanced in this particular Disney book. This is Disney's animals. There are a hundred images to inspire. The Disney animals are highly detailed and decorated with many designs within. This coloring book has a few more added features then the princess book. Not only are the designs more intricate and complex, but they also give history of some of these characters. I really enjoy the history at the back of the book. This book is also made of high-quality paper. My gel ink pens do not leak through this paper. My watercolor pencils were the same as well. This paper can hold a significant amount of color. I do wish it was somewhat like the princess book that I used which had a few less details. This almost seems like these animals and characters are sleeved up with tattoos. Sometimes a few less details is nice to have, but this is a fabulous book in general. I highly recommend this coloring book if you're into the Disney characters. I also have the Star Wars one which is also fantastic. So far this brand has not let me down and I highly suggest it for everybody who loves the color.

This book has everything a Disney fan desires. Characters that are familiar and interesting, and will remind you of that favorite ride at a Disney park or movie. My grandkids love the pages, and it is nice to see them engage in some creative activity that brings recognizable results. It is nice to see their work and watch them learn to stay within the lines and develop hand/eye coordination with pictures that make people smile.
