Every bottle produced by Duplin draws the same pleasure and appreciation as the first. Our vision places emphasis on tradition, heritage, and appreciation in our enduring quest to bring honor to God and provide our family and our friends with the best Muscadine wines in the world. Duplin's roots trace back to the 1970's when Muscadine grapes were considered a "wonder crop" and a large winery out of New York was paying $350 per ton for North Carolina's native grapes. D.J. Fussell, Sr. and his two sons decided to grow grapes. Within three years, the price fell to $150 per ton and the Fussell's were looking for a way to salvage their livelihoods. In the early 1970's, the family decided to create a market for their grapes and started making wine. In-laws, grandchildren, Aunts, and Uncles all pitched in stomping grapes and bottling wine. While larger wineries flew their sales executives across the country in corporate jets, the Fussell's traveled with their wines in a converted hog trailer. "We pulled up to this sophisticated wine distributor in Raleigh… It was the first time they had seen anyone bring them wine loaded in a hog trailer,” said David G. Fussell, Sr. Today, this North Carolina winery has a tank capacity of over 1.4 million gallons, is the largest winery in the South, and produces the bestselling wine in North Carolina. Duplin's award winning North Carolina wines include Magnolia, featured in Martha Stewart Living as a summertime favorite. "For three generations, our winery has remained family-owned and family run, built on the core principles of hard work, integrity, and the uncompromising desire to make America's best and favorite Muscadine wines." -DAVID G, FUSSELL, JR, PRESIDENT & CEO

Tastes like true "homemade" wine, sweet and fruity
I was looking for a wine that reminded me of good old fashioned "homemade " wine, sweet, low alcohol, easy to drink, where you could actually taste the fruit it was made with instead of a strong alcohol flavor. This wine is it. It is sweet and smooth, tasting of muscadines not alcohol. If I didn't know it contained alcohol, i would have thought it was juice. Since receiving and drinking this wine, I have since found the Duplin winery website and ordered alot of their other wines (32 bottles so far) to taste test and to give as gifts. I have not found one wine that I ordered from them that I didn't enjoy. Duplin winery's muscadine wines remind me of true "homemade " wine, sweet and fruity. Each glass brings back memories of sitting on the porch on warm summer evenings, being barefoot in the cool grass, being younger again, ahhhh the good ole days. if you enjoy eating sweet muscadines, then you will love this wine.

The perfect sweet wine
I love this wine. It reminds me of my childhood, picking muscadine grapes right off of my granddaddy's vines. I hate the taste of alcohol, and this wine is nice and sweet, but not overbearingly so.
