Dialogues on Power and Space

The best introduction to Schmitt's geopolitical thinking
This is a small but thought-provoking collection of two dialogues by the great German jurist and philosopher Carl Schmitt. Together with "The Concept of the Political," which was written much earlier, this is the best introduction to Schmitt's ideas. If you don't have the time or money to buy Schmitt's other books, then get this one along with "Concept," and it should give you a pretty good picture of what Schmitt's thought was all about. Also recommended, if you can't get enough of Schmitt, are "The Leviathan in the State Theory of Thomas Hobbes," "Land and Sea," "Writings on War," "Nomos of the Earth," and "Theory of the Partisan." Still, "Dialogues on Space" is the second best introduction to Schmitt after "Concept," and the best introduction to his mature philosophy. Highly recommended, in fact I'd say mandatory, for anyone interested in political philosophy.
