I purchased the water-filled umbrella base last year and was very happy with how well it held up throughout the season. However, about a month ago, when we went to refill it, we discovered a few holes. Naturally, I was disappointed—but that quickly changed once I reached out to customer service.To say I was impressed is an understatement. Within an hour of contacting them, I received a reply. They walked me through verifying that I was still within the one-year warranty and confirmed my purchase. I’ve never experienced customer service like this—professional, responsive, and genuinely helpful. They even replied to my messages on weekends and at odd hours, always making sure I was taken care of.They shipped me a replacement free of charge without any hassle. It’s rare to find a company that stands so firmly behind its product and treats customers with this level of care. I would absolutely buy from them again and recommend them to anyone!

We opted to fill with sand after reading others review that water may leak out. Used 4, 50lb bags of play sand and were able to fit just about all 200lbs. It did take about an hour to get them filled while using a funnel, but was relatively easy. The weight does seem to be enough to hold up our almost 10ft umbrella.

It does the job but, even though it says it can be filled with sand that would be a challenge.The opening is way too small. I didn’t even bother to try.Filling it with water worked well but that means I will have to empty it out every winter.Not a big problem

We bought this product at a discounted price because it was returned but supposed to be in new condition. The return date has gone by but our deck was under construction so today was the first day that we assembled the umbrella and filled the base plates with water. Two of the base plates were damaged and unable to be used as some of the holes on the under side were broken and leaked water. Our mistake for not checking the bases upon receipt. A cautionary tale.

While these weights have held up for at least a couple weeks and seem durable, I cannot shake the memory of the nauseating chemical smell they gave off while opening and filling them. While they may be made of HDPE plastic which is apparently safe, I would question the “UV and weather resistant coating”. The smell was obnoxious and screamed cancer. Buy at your own risk, but I am extremely skeptical as this product is made in China. I question the research and regulations of products like these.
