Actually a great laptop
To start, the t480s is a great laptop. All the ports I could ever want, keyboard is one of my favorites ever, the screen gets very bright, and the battery life is pretty dang good even when working with multiple applications open at once.Specifically for these reburb models, mine came in in perfect condition. Every port and every key works, like I said the battery life is incredible, screen is bright, and no damage to the case or anything. Same goes for the charger, perfect condition. Also getting an I7-8th gen, 24gb ram, and 512gb ssd for $350.. It's a very good deal.My experience with this laptop, besides the initial boot to make sure the keys and ports worked properly, has been entirely on Arch Linux. But I'm sure for windows users the experience is likely very similar. Great laptop and honestly thank you to the guys running this shop.

If i could give 0 stars, I would
When it arrived, I thought by the paperwork provided and reviews that the laptop would be in great condition working. I wasn’t using it so much in the first month or so after receiving it, but once I wanted to start using it for work and school, I noticed the battery would not stay charged for longer than 5–10 minutes unless constantly plugged into the charger. Some applications were also lagging when I tried operating. I waited some time but then when the problem became really persistent especially since I needed to use a laptop on daily basis for my job and school, I started a request for the seller to help me with the issue. I get a response that it is over the 90 day refund/replacement time frame (it was 5 days over when I put the request in) and that basically they can’t help me. I started contacting Amazon and multiple representatives started an A-Z claim, even though it was past the 90 days, I was told that I would be helped with the issue since the seller was not responsive. After a month of calling customer service, and being told that they understand my frustration and my issue would be fixed (I would get a return/refund), I’m now being told that Amazon can’t help me either. I am still currently trying to get my issue resolved with Amazon, but I would save your time and money and not buy from this seller. Almost $400 down the drain for a laptop that doesn’t function how a refurbished laptop should (I didn’t even get to talking about the cosmetic damages sticker cover up). I would strongly recommend saving up for a brand new laptop somewhere else if you are able to, because this will cause you issues (not far) down the line.

I switched from Dell to Lenovo and haven't looked back
I was a Dell desktop/laptop user for many years and they were great. About 6 years ago I got a new job and was given a Lenovo thinkpad laptop. I was very impressed with it's speed, performance, and reliability so I bought one for personal use.I was very pleased for many years with the laptop - until one day after about 4 years it sparked (I believe caused by the laptop charger/adapter. My laptop wasn't under warranty but I spoke with Lenovo customer service and they advised me that I could restart coverage for a small fee and if I waited 30 days I could submit a claim. I was in. After 30 days I filed the claim and they paid to have my laptop shipped to them. They were in constant contact with me over the week or so that they had it. I received my laptop back after about 10 days, fully functional and fixed. Great customer support. But in the meantime I purchased this laptop because I wasn't sure how long it would take to fix my old laptop, or if they even could. So now I have 2 high performance Lenovos and I'm loving them.

Be ready to test thoroughly - not really "refurbished" more like "used"
Overall, fairly dcecent "refurbished" laptop for the price. I purchased one, and found that the laptop would not charge due to a faulty USB port. The port had an intermittent connection, and would charge if I put pressue on the connector (verified with another power adpater I had). So laptop one was returned and a replacement was sent.Once the second latop was received, everything looked good and initial testing was performed and everything seemed to work. One of the reasons I like the T480 is that it has a physical network port. I noticed that this port only functioned at 10Mb. I could never get it to negotiate to 1Gb. After looking at the port I noticed that the pins were bent and the outer pin would not making contact with the connector. I made a tool with a pin that was able to get under the pins and bend them to their proper position. After that work, the network port functioned properly, and no further issues were found. The one annoying issue I have with this "refurbished" laptop is that the refurb company installs a plastic covering on all of the visable surfaces of the laptop and it looks and feels horrible. In my mind this makes a "refurbished" laptop a "used" laptop with stickers all over it as basically that is what they put some big stickers all over it. I wish they had just left it alone. It has actually started pulling up around the ThinkPad" logo and keyboard. I am thinking of pulling it off, but have just gotten used to it at this point. In summary, at the price I purchased at, it is a reasonable laptop and allows me to install linux or windows and perform the work I need to get done. Be ready to thoroughly test the unit when it is received. If you are not able to do your own repairs, you may go through a few. I would consider this laptop to be "used" not "refurbished" which was disappointing.Update - After six months of use, I discovered that the thunderbolt chip had the bad firmware from lenovo which would make the unit not charge properly (the thunderbolt port handles charging as well), and throw errors about the charger being used. I was able to update the firmware and resolve the issue as well. Bottom line for me is refurbished computers from these companies are not worth the money for the average user.
