So much more than I expected.
This is a great little amp. It isn’t going to blow walls down, but for a personal practice amp I think it’s great. If I am playing my phone through it as a Bluetooth speaker it is amazing and can be very loud. It’s the best sounding Bluetooth speaker I have heard. I play everything from banjo to bass guitar. I have to keep the volume down when playing the bass, but it sounds good enough to practice or just lay back and play with different sounds. I’m older and don’t play loud and aggressive music. If you play loud or enjoy heavy metal then this isn’t for you. I would think that you could destroy the speaker and burn out the amp if you crank it up too much for too long on any bass instrument. As for standard guitar playing, it is pleasant for an inexpensive battery powered amplifier. It handles vocals well. The distortion affect is there but not very strong. It’s so nice to take my guitar and this little amp into the living room and lie back in my recliner and relax by playing anything I can remember.

Decent, but not amazing.
It's pretty decent, but it has a lot of high end and playing through a pedal on a distortion setting, this thing has a LOT of..squeak? I'm not exactly sure what the right work is, but I have another small amp that sounds better. I ended up needing to create pedal effects specifically for this amp because it doesn't sound right coming out of this amp. again, it's hard to explain what the issue is. But I needed one that had the option to use batteries as I'm going to be walking around a convention and will not be able to have it plugged into an outlet to do that. There aren't many options for that, and I really didn't want of those super tiny ones that take a 9volt battery. I needed something I could turn up a bit higher.

Dual Use
Great Amp! Sound quality is good, it's fairly durable, easy to use, and I love that it has a port for regular aux. I use it as a speaker for me computer and TV.

Low Power, Frequency Response Not Broad, Speaker Doesn't Handle Transients Well
I probably will find some use for this-- it worked for a jam at my friend's apartment, where volume has to be super-low, but it was pretty disappointing at home. Not loud enough for practice with demo tracks on the stereo, and something about the frequency response was off. I'm using it as a second amp for guitar synth, and it can't keep up with a Blackstar Fly at medium-loud volume. When using the synth for a bass sound, the speaker breaks up badly at higher volume, and just doesn't sound right for keyboard patches unless the volume is very low.The footprint and sturdiness of the cabinet was what appealed to me, but this is a really, really soft amp. The fact that it's only half as loud as Blackstar Fly is some indication of how limited this amp is.

Better Value Than Mini Amps or Earphone Amps
You can get a mini amp with a famous logo stuck on the grill, or for about the same price, you can get this. I've had a couple mini amps before, including one with orange tolex (I won't name the brand) and they tend to sound like, well... "transistor" radios. This one blows them away. It sounds more like a small practice amp that can also run on battery power. You also get the added benefit of a bluetooth speaker with this.I wasn't initially impressed when I first plugged the adapter in. The sound is rather dull. Turning the bass fully back however emphasized more treble which will get you an acceptable sound. When you crank the volume from the 3:00 position to full dime, this baby roars to life! It's enough to fill a room without disturbing the neighbors too badly. Plenty of high end too.The controls are straightforward. A push button gives you gain and you can adjust it to your liking. I find that 12:00 gives you a nice tube like crunch. I don't have much use for more than that. The bluetooth is simple to operate. Just press and hold until the blue light comes on and it's ready to pair. The sound with bluetooth is better than any small bluetooth device I've owned. Probably because of the 4 1/2 inch speaker. It's a closed back design, but it's ported in front. The grill cloth isn't stretched too tightly - that's one small drawback, but it's easy to carry and it's going on my next vacation. The old amplug and earphones will be staying at home. The adapter is included and it requires 6 AA batteries. I plan to use the adapter. Not sure how long batteries would last at higher volumes.Very pleased with this little box. Forget the earphone amps and mini amps at a comparable price. For the price, you can't go wrong with this.
