Blackburn Central 50 Rear Light - Black

Great light, interesting mounting system
This is an interesting light due to the mounting system. It comes with a silicone strap and mounting bracket. You can use that to mount to a seat tube, but probably not any narrow tubing such as seat stays. I hate silicon straps as they fail sometimes without warning --my main interest in this light was for the integrated mounting system:The light has a metal clip integrated. So this can easily be moved from a pants pocket, seat bag, backpack or even a belt. Anything with a fabric loop. I like that kind of versatility and being that the clip is metal it's unlikely to wear out or break like plastic or silicone.Oh and this thing is BRIGHT. You can't even look at it during the day or you'll hurt your eyes. And the light leaks through the plastic at the sides, adding a decent amount of side visibility.

All You Need In A Rear Bike Light.
I’ve used this rear light for about 5-6 rides so far. It has 3 settings. Red light stays on with no flash for 3 hours of use (according to the instructions) First flashing mode, 9 hours and second flashing mode 12 hours. All according to the instructions. I use the 2nd flashing mode and used it for 8 hours before I charged it. It was still working but didn’t want to risk it going off during a ride. Would it last the 12 hours, I can’t say for sure. All 3 settings are bright and very visible in bright daylight which some lights aren’t. The 2 flashing settings are very similar so I use the longer lasting one. As with all rechargeable lithium batteries their charge is lessened in colder weather.I didn’t test the mount that attaches to a bike tube as I use the clip that attaches to the back of my under seat bike bag. Very easy to switch between my 2 road bikes.Considering the price I think this is a great produce. Who needs a dozen settings when the 3 provided serves any purpose I might have. The on off/setting is on the front of the lens, very easy to use and get to.I would definitely buy again if it was lost or stolen.

Roxanne...you dont have to put on the red light, but you should. Look no further...This is the one.
I wanted a super bright rechargeable rear flashing light for my road bicycle for an attention getting (steer clear of me because I fear you big metal road monsters) warning. This was less than 15 dollars. The body is metal, the clip on the back is super strong (And I mean super strong better eat your Wheaties spring material). I have only charged it once and I have used it on 5 (1.5) hour rides with no loss of brightness and the built in power meter still shows in the green. It only has 3 modes which I love, (no toggling through endless modes), and the easiest on off switch. Big enough to be practical without being heavy or looking out of place on a high end bike. Mine is clipped onto my rear seat bag and believe me it is going nowhere. (Did I mention how strong the metal rear clip is)? I experimented by setting the light at the edge of my property and could clearly see it flashing in bright daylight about 100 yards away ") As the Police said in 1978, I wouldn't talk down to ya, put on the red light", I highly recommend.

I bought a second one for my other bike.
I absolutely love this light. It is elegantly designed, it is lightweight, it is easy to use, it's bright, It's rechargeable, it's water-resistant (maybe waterproof?)I commute daily by bicycle about 15 minutes or 2miles each way every day. I usually only flip it on when i think visibility may be low, or at night, and this light is bright and it lasts me a very long time-- by long I mean weeks!I'm always recharging my Lezyne headlight, and this one is one of those "put on and forget" type of items. When you turn it off it blinks green, green+red, or red to let you know how much battery it has left-- this little feature saves me a lot of stress. The recharging is USB, so it's easy to find those cables laying around. The port is easy to find and use, and keeps the innards of the light dry, as I have ridden in the rain with this light several times with no problems whatsoever. The rubber strap is probably only appropriate for round tubes, not aero seat tubes, but the light also has a clip that I think feels very strong and reliable.I've had this light for about a year now and it is still going strong. I found these on amazon for $15 and I HAD to have it since I paid more from a different retailer last time. I will put that on my road bike so I can feel safer during my road rides. From experience, it should last several hours, which is desirable for my longer outings. This is the best $15 light in the market, and you would do yourself a disservice if you bought a different, crappier $15 light.I highly recommend it!

Blackburn Brightness!!!!
Since becoming an avid city cyclist, I invested in the cycling safety gear. It's a must. The Blackburn brand I particularly liked for its size, lumen output and rechargeable convenience. After 5 plus years of service, my Blackburn Flea gave up the ghost, R.I.P. This new Blackburn Central 50 is bigger and brighter!! Still conveniently sized and rechargeable, I'll be blazing a trail of safety with this midnight sun!! USB charging port connected to my computer as I type, I love that it has a mount for the bike or clip it to your backpack (which was why I purchased it). Perfect replacement to my Flea. Looking forward to another 5 years plus of safety =)

CANNOT BEAT THIS FOR THE PRICE AND QUALITY - This is the one for you
Looking for a bright, trustworthy taillight? You found it. I have always been a fan of Blackburn's products, so it was no surprise at the quality an performance of the Central 50.I have been using mine for a few weeks now and it has worked flawlessly. The battery life is phenomenal, the brightness and visibility are top notch, and I'm pleased with the size and look.Out of the 3 settings (solid, steady flash, and periodic flash, just made that phrase up I think) I use the 3rd to save battery life on long rides or to not worry about charging it every night.I WOULD BUY AGAIN AND DEFINITELY RECCOMEND!
