Would this work for a large textbook?

It did not work for a large novel (close to 900 pages) and some textbooks are at least that big. With the book I tried (and that book was the reason I bought this stand), it was too thick for support ledge and there was no possible way to make those page holders work. Very disappointed and will be returning this product.

I have a very heavy nursing textbook its looseleaf binded almost 2,000 pages will this be good?

I think you might want to find something sturdier. Also, the two page holders might not fit over the pages of your opened book.

Will it work for paperbacks?

Yes it works for all kinds of books and papers and has promised to keep them pages in place if needed
