I really liked the MIT OCW course by Prof. Tsitsiklis along with this textbook. It really helped me in understanding the in-depth mathematical concept of Probability Theory. The right mixture of end of chapter problems is really helpful in clearing the concepts by working on those problems. Overall I don't regret the massive study time which I had to spent on this book it really helped me as a Data Scientist and will always help.

A must have book when you are looking forward to get started in probability, from scratch. Specially for UGs and PG freshmen.

I bought this book about 5 years ago, and to this day still go to this book for reference. The problems are good. The first 5 chapters covers the essentials of probability. The last 2 chapters of the book, Bayesian Statistical Inference and classical statistical inference can use some more examples and also little more clear better theory. I had some hard time understanding last 2 chapters....had to refer to other books for that. Ashwani Kumar Shamlodhiya

Math manuals about probabilities. Plenty of exercises, just a perfect self-learning book. Don't buy it if you want to read casually, this is a book you'll have lean upon on your desk for a few hours.

Dimitri has a great course online - superb teacher at MIT

The book is not very useful for self studies without the corresponding MIT lectures. It's however a good book if you listen to the lectures.
