Visualize the Universe
I originally saw this at the library in the new books section. The 3D image pairs cover a lot of ground and each image is accompanied by a well-written description. I had to have my own copy to experience at my leisure and show off to friends. I already had a different 3D astronomy book focused just on star fields.Although the book folds into a stereoscope with acceptable lenses, with my eyesight I can visualize the 3D effect simply by holding the image about 10" out and relaxing my eyes (without eyeglasses). However, the lenses also work well if I leave my eyeglasses on.It makes you wonder, if they still made Viewmasters, would there be a bunch of "astronomical themed" discs available?

3D difficult at first with glasses, but . . .
When I first started using this book, I had difficulty seeing the 3-D effect as I am nearsighted and wear glasses. I then read some of the comments on Amazon and experimented. If I hold the viewer about 2 to 5 inches in front of my face, rather than placing my nose in the hole on the viewer, the 3-D effect will magically appear. Depending on the image, I need to adjust the distance between the front of my face and the viewer. Also the 3-D effect varies between the photos. Ultimately this is a great book. And thanks to Stephen Colbert for featuring the book on his show, as that is how I learned about it.

Stereoscopic viewing is poor
Good information and pictures, but the stereoscopic pages are marginal.

Interesting book
I was excited to receive this book. I have always been interested in space. I have used the book a few times but I had trouble with some of the 3-D pictures. I also wear glasses and can’t figure out if I should wear them when viewing the pages or not. I read all of the reviews before I ordered it and should have paid more attention the them . The book is very interesting and might be better for children and young people than my older generation.

amazing 3d
I bought this book after hearing about it on a podcast. It is as intriguing as described. The glasses (attached to the book so you can't lose them) really bring the 3d to life. I gasped with delight at some of the pictures like a crater on the moon. I couldn't contain my excitement and shared it with my husband who said "What is this?" with a dubiousness. After looking he said "This is so cool." The thing I criticize is that the text descriptions can be a bit esoteric. Sometimes they made the experience confusing rather than revealing.

Love this book. The 3D pics are amazing!
The photos are gorgeous and the 3D effect is wonderful. It takes a few minutes to acclimate your eyes through the viewer for 3D but it does work - - and it works very well. Note - there are a few people who can’t or just won't take the time to view in 3D (it takes a bit of practice). My only complaint is that the book (about 200 pages of thick stock paper) is a bit heavy to hold for very long to view the pics. Just break the 3D viewing into shorter sections of time; enjoy in all its glory.

Amazing
Must book for all students. Initially we may take time to adjust and fuse the images in to 3d , however once you get the angle the it’s easy and really enjoyable. 5 star all the way ✨👍🏻

Amazing book
The book doesn't cover the universe in a huge amount of detail, but that's really not the point of the book... You get to see amazing views of the universe captured in 3D, while giving just enough information that the average person will walk away knowing more about the universe. If you're intro astronomy already and buying the book as an in-depth study of the universe, there are most definitely better options, but even if you already know everything the book will tell you, seeing it all in 3D and in one single place is pretty cool.In terms of the 3D images, I can see it clearly, though my mum for some reason hasn't been able to see it at all, that's the only reason why I'm leaving 4 stars. It seems there are definitely a hand full of people that won't be able to get the most out of this book.

Mind blowing amount of science information
I love this bookMy 3 year old grand daughter loves looking through the lensesThis book is taking a very long time to read as the information is very detailed and complexI think Neil deGrasse Tyson and Michael A. Strauss have given the world a gem to behold.
