Does it work well in bath tubs?

It would work equally well in sinks or bathtubs.

Its too big for what i am looking for does it still work if i cut it?

It works great for me the way it is. The bottom is completely flat, so it would probably work if you cut it. However, I did not have to cut mine so I cannot be sure. Good luck!

What is it made of, if not latex?

Rubber and latex are the same thing. I found that out the hard way, as I am highly allergic to latex.
