Shells fit well in the sockets. It holds them well. Not to loose. Not too tight. Just right. They slide out great. Good to keep a few types of ammo in for home defense depending on the threat.

An Efficient Way to Keep 8 Shells Close and Ready
I bought this handy shell holder for my home defense shotgun. It fits the stock snugly and the shells are quite secure as well. It also doesn't seem to interfere with the operation of the firearm. If the worst ever happens I'm sure I'll be happy to have 8 more shells close at hand. FYI: Make sure and install the unit from the barrel end of the firearm!

Not worth anything. buy a different side saddle/shell holder
It is exactly the same width the whole stock. So it fits nicely over the widest part of the stock. but has an extra loose inch of material hanging on the slim part. this piece should be thicker on one end so it actually looks like it's tight around the whole stock. poor cheap construction
