Always be yourself....unless you can be Batman....then always be Batman.
I have spent a lot of time looking at Gotham, both on screen and in comics. This game gave me the chance to BE IN Gotham. To explore the Bat Cave...first hand. To stand in a dirty Gotham alleyway and examine a crime scene. To set foot IN Arkham asylum. To see the Bat Signal up close and personal. To look in the mirror and think "I'M FREAKING BATMAN!"In addition to all of that, this is just a good puzzle solving mystery game. But keep that in mind, it is a puzzle solving mystery game. This is Batman the detective, not Batman the combatant. That said, since it's not a fast moving action game, it is a great introduction to VR as there is little to no chance of motion sickness from this title. The graphics are some of the best I've seen in PSVR yet (the a fore mentioned crime scene reconstruction is amazing). The music is pure Batman and the voice acting is everything you've come to expect from the Arkham series (Mark Hamill's Joker and all). As others have noted the game is a bit short, about two hours, but to be fair it is not priced as a full game either.5 stars for a great game.

A wonderful, must have title for the PSVR.
Great game, I was in awe when getting to the menu and standing on the roof top in Gotham city, the bat signal behind me casting a beacon into the night sky. The sounds of the traffic, and noise pollution that comes with being in a city, and the general hustle and bustle. Then going into the game, without giving to much away, is amazing. It's very story driven, you move when looking at certain locations and pressing a move button, or by grappling to that area, though it wont show you grappling long distances, or traveling in most vehicles (I suspect to cut down on motion sickness). There isn't much combat in the game at all, it's really puzzle based and exploration within a small area, think something like Telltale games series but with a bit more freedom and a lot more features and immersion. When you beat it, there is the riddler trophies that unlock, adding a few more playthrough for you, and something like 30 puzzles to unlock extras with. The story is very short, I explored a little, though not as much as I could have, and beat it in an hour and a half, but I didn't even get half of the unlockables. There is also a target range that unlocks when you beat it, for your batarang. Speaking of batarang, you have three tools you'll use. You have the batarang which ,as you can guess is the bat-boomerang batman uses, you throw it, it doesn't come back, and a new one spawns on your belt in it's place. You have the grappling hook, for grappling to areas, and grabbing certain out of reach items, and you have your scanning tool, where you can analyze data, replay deductive reasoning scenarios, and scan certain items. To get all trophies in the game, you're likely looking at 3-5 hours if you rush the store and use a guide for every thing, and 5-10 hours if you take your time, explore and enjoy and discover them for yourself. The target range can keep you coming back though, chasing a high score with it. Also, there is an archive of past arkham games, and items. For example, you can see and hold harley quinns bat, Victor Freeze's gun, Riddler's cane, and so on. For those who really like trophies, I can say I see no platinum in this game, so you won't be adding one to your collection by doing this, just enjoying the game. All in all, for 20 dollars, I'd recommend it no problem. It's a game you play through many times, and will likely come back to like a movie, every now and then wanting to be the bat. I really hope Rocksteady takes note of this, I would love an actual 10-20 hour game of this, with more features and things to explore, and the ability to move freely, and see yourself grappling, and driving in the batmobile and batwing jet. The vehicles are there, and you can unlock more, but without being able to see in the cockpit it leaves some to be desired. I'd pay good money for a longer version, this game oozes quality. I've play "catlateral damage" "Job Simulator", and "VR Worlds" with the demo disc, and have beaten the last two (catlateral damage, or Cat Sim as it's often referred to did not do it for me, so I won't be playing it again likely) and have "RIGS" and "Rush of Blood" on the way, but so far this is my favorite VR title. The only things keeping it from being a 5 star game, is the length (Which for the price isn't bad), and the cut to black when grappling and riding in vehicles, which I understand Rocksteady not wanting to put a game out to make people sick, and it is a launch title so they were likely testing the waters, but in future versions I hope to see it present, with an option of disabling it if you get sick.

Become the Batman! An amazing display of just how good VR can be. Welcome to Virtual Reality.
Wow. This game blew me away. The graphics were stunning and I felt I was truly looking at the DC characters I was standing next to. Yes it is short, but as a launch title, especially for something like VR it's a great demo of what VR can do, and hence the $19.99 price tag. There was one particular moment while in the morgue where I actually thought to myself "Wow, this is the future!" (The puzzle right before you leave the morgue).I felt truly immersed and this literally took me to a whole new world. I was IN Gotham. The story is very, very short but intriguing and you want to know what happens next. Once the game was over and I removed the headset, I understood that I had completely mentally left actual reality. It was almost like waking up from a dream. This will be interesting to see how the brain takes all this in over time, to really feel like you are somewhere else. It made me think of the Matrix, when Morpheus answers Neo's question "is this real?" Overall, this is the best VR experience I've had yet. Bring on more Rocksteady... please!!!

Be the Batman!
Wow! Among the most intricate VR experiences yet. From the moment you dawn Batman's mask and look at yourself in the mirror, you are completely immersed in Gotham's world. Your utilities are grasped by reaching down to your belt (forensic tool on left, batarangs in center and grappling hook at right). Puzzles are solved by picking items up and piecing them together. Many things are intuitive as they are in the real word, breaking down barriers of interaction. In-game character models are in your face, or can be switched to a datapad and looked at in 360 degrees as an action figure. Some reactions you may have taken before in video games, like a quick trigger finger, will need to be thought out. And villains in your face - wow! You can't help but feel the grotesqueness. Don't get me started on the morgue scene... Batman: Arkham VR isn't lengthy but it is a great immersive experience to be paced, appreciated and explored again. Well worth it and a promising example of what VR will bring to gaming - you! Rocksteady has once again crafted an awesome Batman experience!
