I recently purchased Evolution Nutrition’s “EVL” pre-workout, and let me tell you, it is something special. This pre-workout supplement will be the next step in your journey toward your fitness goals. This product is geared toward the seasoned lifter and the experienced pre-workout user. When evaluating any pre-workout supplement, I look for four things, price per serving, strength of the stimulants, flavor, and overall effectiveness. The price of this was only $25 dollars for thirty servings, which is a good deal because each serving averages less than a dollar. The flavor, fruit punch, is delicious and you will be looking forward to this before your workout. The strength of the stimulants in this product are on the strong side of the spectrum when it comes to pre-workout. At 260 mg of caffeine per serving, this is well above the average of around 200 mg of caffeine per serving of pre-workout. Overall, this is a great pre-workout, and you will enjoy taking this and the results that come with this. By taking this product you will enjoy more energy for your workouts, you’ll have more endurance within your workouts, and you’ll have better results from your workouts. Whenever you struggle to find the motivation to get to the gym, this will give you the boost you need to get started and to keep going. The ability to workout longer allows you to increase your calories burned, and increase your aerobic capacity. Burning more calories leads to increased weight loss, which in turn can lead to a better overall health. A main feature of Evolution Nutrition’s “EVL” is its fat burning matrix. This formula raises your body temperature by utilizing capsimax, which gives you the effect of capsaicin without the burn. In the three weeks I’ve been using this product, I’ve noticed a definite increase in my strength, with my bench press increasing 15 pounds already! Like any other lifter, you will love to see your bench press max increase like that. Another big difference I saw was my muscle definition increasing. By leaving creatine out of this product, Evolution Nutrition made a conscious effort to ensure that you won’t be bloated due to water retention. Overall, I would recommend this product to any experienced user of pre-workout that is encountering a plateau and wants to keep progressing, or anyone looking to step up their workouts.

I've used many different pre workouts but always come back to this one. I try to use product that have good ingredients and a big part of why I prefer this one over others is the inclusion of CLA. I don't have to get another product for it and get a good amount of energy to get a good workout in. This pre workout also doesn't contain creatine which is a preference of some people. I have found that some batches of this pre workout in the past have come to clump very quickly or were already clumping by the time I got to the second bottle. Definitely store properly and don't keep sitting for a very long time.

Taste: 9.5 / 10 - ENGN Shred Fruit Punch is the most consistent flavor of all of the Shred products. Typically, one gets sick of a certain flavor as it's artificial taste ends up becoming mundane. However, after sampling all of the ENGN Shred pre workout flavors - Fruit Punch is the only one that continues to deliver and only one I now purchase. Compared to other pre-workout products (C4 and Pre JYM) - ENGN Shred Fruit Punch is actually the best tasting and the only one i'm able to consume on a daily basis. One negative piece of feedback is that if left shaken and undrank for a full day, the ENGN shred ends up tasting somewhat toxic and burns a bit to consume the next day, so it is better to consume "fresh" Energy Levels: Of all of the pre workouts - I enjoy ENGN shred the most. The energy level compares to that of C4; however, ENGN shred does not leave me with the shakes as many preworkouts do nor does it create the face-tingling or hot-ears sensations. I take it every morning at 5:00am CT and am ready to go within 15 minutes. The one comment I have is that I feel it may burn off too quickly as I feel that after my workout, I need coffee or an additional boost of energy and that I've spent all that provided by ENGN Shred. Endurance: Endurance levels are great - I am able to push through my workouts and the Shred component increases my sweat and calories burned substantially (both Lifting and Cardio). Will continue to use on a daily basis and have settled on ENGN shred as my pre-workout of choice.

I have been using the ENGN Shred Fruit Punch for several months now and am very pleased with it. I have tried many pre-workouts prior to ENGN Shred and can safely say that this is my new favorite formula. Prior to trying ENGN Shred, my favorite pre-workout was C4 Extreme Fruit Punch. Many other pre-workouts produce a frothy texture after mixing and that is not ideal to me. Both ENGN and C4 do not cause that sort of texture and both provide a very good taste with good energy output. However, the similarities stop there. ENGN is a much better value to me based on price and contents. C4 includes unnecessary filler like Creatine and other substances that make your skin slightly tingle, which does nothing for performance. I feel that ENGN Shred contains only what is necessary to get the job done. I also like the fact that ENGN Shred contains Yohimbine as that was also part of my pre-workout stack before trying it. ENGN Shred also seems to help maintain much more constant energy levels throughout my workout than C4. With C4, I would get a big burst at the beginning but it would drop off steeply after about 30-45 minutes. ENGN has me going for several hours if necessary. I have also found that 1 scoop of ENGN Shred is about the same energy-wise as two scoops of C4, which makes it an even better value to me. I will continue to use ENGN Shred as I don't believe there is anything out there that can match the taste, value and energy levels that it provides.

I've used several pre-workout supplements, but ENGN Shred is by far my favorite. I personally do jot experience any major jitters from the stimulants, but did experience "skin crawl." That should be expected from beta-alanine and not of any actual concern (that effect dissipates after a couple uses). There aren't many days that I can't get a decent to great workout, this stuff really boosts my energy levels. There is also a standard ENGN pre-workout (sans the "shred"). It's decent too, and includes 2g. Albeit, if you want the effects from creatine, you'll need to add in 3g more on top of that (daily recommended is 5g). Personally, I'd switch to the regular ENGN if Evl upped the creatine to 5g, but I'm perfectly happy with taking Shred with 5g scoops of creatine monohydrate (Evl sells that too).
