Very good book.

Has some cute ideas but patterns are pictorial rather than wrote out row by row.Can be difficult to follow if not experienced crocheter.

The book is beautiful as it tells the story of The night before Christmas’ using the crochet characters. Only trouble is I don’t like using charts. I like to have a written pattern to follow. Very sad to not be able to crochet the characters to go with the story.If this book was rewritten using written patterns I’d be the first to buy it.

I have been an avid knitter for much of my nearly 80 years. This year my eldest daughter re-introduced me to crochet. I knew the basics and have been pleasantly occupied over the last few months making crochet items including toys. I sent off for a copy of this book as I wanted a doll pattern with interchangeable clothes and was so disappointed when I opened it to see that all the patterns are in diagram form which I find extremely difficult to follow. The book is in colour throughout which will please some people but I am finding the diagrams very difficult and time consuming. I am taking time to labouriously write them out. I wouldn't recommend this book if you haven't followed diagrams before.

Theres no written pattern! As someone who find it hard to focus visually, i found it super difficult making notes on which stitch im on. Its not great for people who struggle focusing.

This is diagram only. Had I known it wouldn’t have been added to my wish list so wouldn’t have been a wasted gift that can no longer be returned. Nowhere in the description does it mention this and had there been an option to download the written translations, this would have got a 5 star review from me
