Nice smell
Product is nice! It would be better if it came sealed in a plastic wrap to preserve the scent. Also this was my second order. Apparently the first one was shipped with two other items in the same box. I did not notice this small scent book. I probably threw it out in error. It would be nice if it was packaged sealed in a more substantial manner or shipped by itself. Too easy to miss. This is probably more an Amazon issue than that of the actual seller.

Delightful oriental smell!
These Papiers d'Armenie work just as they are supposed to: you tear off a strip out of the booklet, fold it accordion-style, then light one end, and quickly blow out the flame, and set it down in an ashtray or other flameproof surface. The paper smolders, releasing a fragrant smoke, for about 3 minutes, then it self-extinguishes. The smoke is indeed pungent, so it's best to leave the room while it burns. Unburnt, the papers smell not only of benzoin, but opoponax, vanilla and amber as well. In fact, the unburnt smell is much like the old Coty ÉMÉRAUDE, ie., a classic French Oriental smell. These are delightful and charming, and would make great inexpensive gifts. The booklet contains 12 sheets, each sheet containing 3 strips.... So you get 36 burns from one booklet. In 1885, the Papiers were claimed to yield a smoke that was purifying, healthgiving and antiseptic; now we just know they smell really good.

Intense, but briefly
I actually can’t burn incense anymore because it just goes on for so long and fills up my house and lungs with smoke and it’s kind of obnoxious. This is delightful. It’s a little piece of paper. It burns. It smokes. It’s over and then you are left with the lovely scent and it’s not overbearing.

Just what I wanted
These little papers are a much more elegant way to freshen up a loo than nasty spray stuff. I fold each page in half so that I only tear out half of each strip (meaning I get six per page), fold it accordion-style and just touch the tip of a burning match to it. Blow out any flame and set both in a ceramic dish and walk away. Yes, you do get a little lit match scent, a little burning paper fragrance, because what did you just do? Touched a lit match to paper to burn it. Huh. But there is a nice scent that follows. It doesn't hide what you've been doing, but isn't that obvious anyway? What it does do is just make a necessary function more pleasant.I ordered the traditional book, as always, and it smelled as it always does, a slightly woodsy, Oriental, vanilla blend that is pleasant and a little lush.Unless and until the scent changes, I'll keep buying these.

A bit disappointed
After reading the ingredient list, I was hoping that this had more of a natural scent rather than perfumey. But it turned out to smell quite perfumey to the point that I had to get it immediately out of my house. If you're someone who likes strong scents, you might like it.

Classy Stink Killer
I may never go back to scented candles.I live in a small condo with an open floor plan. Whatever I cook smells up the whole house. Kept seeing recommendations for this deodorizing paper online (like The Strategist). After cooking, I light one up and instant success. Also effective at exorcising bathroom defecation demons.Tried two scents, Armenie and Traditional. I prefer Traditional, it’s lighter and more odor neutralizing. Both are pleasant and smell unlike any candle I have tried in the past, but Armenie does linger longer after burning out.Don’t expect this to slow burn like stick incense. It does its job (deodorize), scent sticks around for a bit, very easy to use, super affordable, and looks cute lying around.
