Cold Steel Mini Leatherneck Tanto Point

Smaller than you think but the grip still fits hand well as long as you don’t have big hands. Comes very sharp out of the box. The sheath is functional but could have used bigger holes, but that’s not a problem if you buy the right mount. The handle is comfortable and the guard lets you put some weight without risk of hand slipping.

Blade is the right size and very sharp. The best part is that it has a handle that will fill the width of your hand and a handguard to protect your fingers. So many of these little “backup” knives have a worthless handle with no guard. This Cold Steel knife is just right. I put a clip on it with very skinny Chicago screws. The holes in the sheath are very small so plan for that. Now it’s a great little belt knife at a great price.

I've always been a fan of Cold Steel's products and this one is no letdown. I've yet to put it through any rigorous testing but it's a very handy tool. It's small enough to keep laying around, light enough to manipulate easily, and plenty sharp right out of the box. It comes with a Secure-Ex sheath, which keeps proper retention on the knife. The blade itself is a full tang tanto edge, so not much to say there. The crossguard is decently accommodating around the entire knife, and quite solid (helps with sheath retention). The handle is rubberized, with indents on either side and ridges for gripping. It's a bit of an odd shape but no complaints on the ergonomics. Overall, a solid budget backup/shop/desk knife.

I'm a fan of 8CR13MoV blades. Good toughness for a reasonable price, can be sharpened enough to shave with fairly easy. The blade is solid and came sharp, actually flawless satin. The grip is wide enough for a solid 3 fingers or if choked up, index finger on the blade for delicate work, a pinky gets on the grip. (I wear extra large gloves for comparing hand size.) The blade length is right at the edge of acceptable in polite society if you know what I mean. Good retention in the sheath. However, and this is an issue for someone looking a a sheath with multiple lacing holes, Those holes are not sized for paracord. They are more sized for dress shoelaces. The holes on the sheath almost correspond with Molle, close enough. Second issue in the sheath, why no clip. Is Cold Steel that hard up for money that the next 40 cents worth of machine time requires a separate purchase?

It's just a cute little baby knife. It's cheap, sharp and seems well made. The sheath is excellent (for what it is). I wish the handle was 1/4" longer, the steel was higher grade and the holes in the sheath were big enough for 550 paracord to go through. But for the price, it's a 5 star knife.

These are good little knives and also make great gifts. Came very sharp. Thick blade. Good sheath with retention. Rubber grip is non slip. And a big plus is that these actually have just enough of a guard to keep your hand from sliding down the blade.

This is hands down one of the cooler designs for a small neck knife, but all of them look awesome, cold steel minis have some of the coolest looking blades at this size, but there is just something about the design of this one that is super unique, on top of it it feels sturdy, well made an extremely sharp, witch is so important because i have gotten 2 other knifes on here an out the box they were pretty dull, one of them i spent more then i did for this, so for this price you are definitely getting an awesome quality blade, It has a well made sheath with a clip, in a cool lil collectors style box, witch is also really cool.

Fantastic value for money

Muy buena calidad de acero y materiales de la funda. El mango es de goma con buen agarre. Hoja muy afilada. No tiene clip la funda, lo que se agradecería para portar. El cuchillo entra muy ajustado en la funda lo que evita que no se salga accidentalmente. Recomendable.

A lâmina tem uma boa retenção de fio, é confiável para cortes e manuseio pequeno para médio.

Love the steel cross-guard on this knife, gives your hand a safe stopping point and a rest for your thumb 👌 Handle is nice and comfortable for large hands. Sheath has good enough retention for hanging upside down & it quickly deploys with a push of the thumb when you need it. Tanto style is easily the strongest of these mini leathernecks, the point is sharp and sturdy. Blade was able to shave hair off my arm out of the box for a couple days. It does require frequent honing/stropping to stay sharp - but that should be expected for a stainless blade at this price. Still love it.

Cold Steel beweist mit dem hier rezensierten LEATHERNECK TANTO MINI einmal mehr, dass die Messer dieses Herstellers qualitativ sehr viel für einen fairen Preis bieten. Das Messer ist zwar recht klein, hat aber eine Klinge, welche für die meisten EDC Aufgaben voll und ganz ausreicht... vom Attribut "Mini" sollte man sich hier nicht zu sehr täuschen lassen, dieses Messer ist für die allermeisten Einsatzarten prima geeignet. Gut ist auch, dass dieses Messer trotz seiner geringen Ausmaße gut in der Hand liegt und die Klinge erfreulich stabil ist, auch härtere Einsätze sollte dieses Messer prima durchstehen. Die Tantoform sorgt ebenfalls dafür, dass diese Klinge sehr stabil ist, gute Kraftübertragung für kräftige Schnitte erlaubt und vielseitige Einsatzmöglichkeiten machbar sind. Wenn man möchte kann es auch als Neck Knife getragen werden, was allerdings nichts für mich ist. Der verwendete Stahl ist gut schnitthaltig, leicht zu schärfen und das Messer war bei Lieferung schon sehr scharf - wie es sein sollte. Preislich liegt dieses kleine Kraftpaket aktuell bei 33 Euro, diesen Betrag ist es alle Male wert. Ich komme auf knappe, aber verdiente 5 Sterne.
