My life has changed since I got this board
Alright, so Mum was on about me getting a proper ironing board – you know how mums are. My old one was a bit of a wobble fest and pretty low. Anyway, with a voucher in hand and a decent offer on Amazon, I went for the Ergo Mint Prozone Ironing Board. Got it for £37.95, a bit down from its usual £49.95.Let me tell you, it's actually made a difference. I know, who gets excited over an ironing board, right? But this isn't your average board. The cover’s got this heat-reflective thing going on, and it genuinely speeds up the ironing. No more going over the same shirt a dozen times. It's comfy to use, too, especially because you can use it left or right-handed. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but it’s a nice touch. The whole arm-aching saga is a thing of the past now. And the Flex Guide is pretty clever – keeps the cord out of the way, so no more fighting with the iron cable.Stability-wise, it's solid. No more ironing board wobbles, which is a relief. I even splurged on extra covers – not necessary, but why not?I mean, I didn't think an ironing board could be a life-changer, but here we are. It's a bit pricier than some, sure, but for the back pain it’s saved me and how much easier it’s made my life? Worth it. If you're thinking about it and can swing the price, I'd say go for it. It's a decent bit of kit for the daily grind.

Good board
The Minky Ergo Ironing Board is decent but not outstanding. Its size of 122 x 38 cm provides enough space for ironing, and the blue design looks nice. However, the overall build feels a bit flimsy, and the stability could be better, especially when ironing heavier fabrics. It does the job for light, everyday use but doesn’t feel as durable or high-quality as expected. For the price, the quality is just average functional but not particularly impressive.

The great joy of a perforated ironing board
I took the cover off my old, cheap, not particularly cheerful ironing board, to wash - and discovered a horrid multitude of steamy sins. That ironing board was solid metal, with a few random holes, and coated with some kind of protective surface. And of course, we all use steam irons. So, where does the steam end up, which penetrates the clothes, the cover, any subsidiary cover and the like. Pooling and trapped on that protective surface that's where. Not that the protection does that good a job. Lifting off my double cover I lifted off some horrid, plastic painty type surface, flaking from the board itself.I did think (sigh) of buying another cheap board, but that too is only at some point going to add to landfill. The Minky has PERFORATIONS all over the base. Someone thought about where the steam might go, if it was trapped. The board is bigger than I expected, when folded up - though the ironing board itself is as described, folded and vertical it is around 160 cm, not 122 cm! - so I did find I can't store it where I had planned, and where that old board used to fitIt is quite hefty, so unless you have a dedicated utility room where it can be left set up, it may be a bit of a struggle for anyone frail .The opening mechanism is really good, and I can understand why it costs around 2 - 3 times the price of that old, very boggy (!) standard oneI was tempted to drop a star for incorrect item dimension, but I like it too much in action.I decided to invest in an additional felt layer based on what other ironers were saying. My, it makes a differenceThe cover is elasticated, and fits well, and can be removed for washing or replaced if damagedMinky replacement covers, tightly elasticated are therefore an easier fit than those old tightening cordsI do like the fact it is made in this country and so buying it supports British manufacturingI'm never going to enjoy ironing, but though a bad workperson blames their tools, I can already see a difference in my manky ironing now I have better tools!

Nice board, not so nice cover
The ironing board itself is great. Good adjustability for height, sturdy and the ergonomic iron rest works very well. Under the cover is a thin insulating pad. Cannot complain about the actual board at all BUT the cover is flimsy, too large for the board, ill fitting so it moves when ironing and it doesn’t ‘like’ my steam generator iron at all because the ‘metallic’ dots seem to make the garment pucker and crease. I have completely solved the problem by putting my virtually brand new replacement cover from my old board on top. It’s 100% cotton with its own attached pad. I would recommend if you buy this to buy a cotton replacement cover straight away as the original is not fit for purpose! I will continue to use this board now and I hope it lasts 30 years like my old one did now I’ve solved the cover issue!

Fully adjustable to any height up to 92cm
I have knee & back issues so find it hard to stand for long periods & have developed the knack of ironing whilst sitting down. This board works brilliantly for this as it is fully adjustable to any height up to 92cm. It can be used by left & right handed people & is a decent size. There is a Prozone Cover made of 100% cotton with heat reflective metallic coating & a deep felt underlay.I had this exact same model previously & it broke after about 6 years. I replaced it with something different from a budget supermarket but found that it was not suitable so went back to the model I knew worked for me. There is a 5 year guarantee.
