Aune Bass Amplifier Cabinet (he X7S)

I am not a true audiophile by the community standards. I have only recently started to delve into this as a hobby albeit expensive one. The title says amazing not because it sounds any better then my Mayflower Arc Dac/Amp combo but simply because it is a power house. I currently own t50rp MK3's, HD 600, 6xx, 660s and the AKG 7xx red edition. I bought these with the sole intention of using the balanced XLR. Thats where you will see the power benefits. Although this amp will power any of the headphones I listed with no issues, the only real reason to get this specific one in my opinion is to utilize the balanced XLR where you will get the greatest power benefits.As far as sound, I myself cannot tell the difference in quality from my Mayflower to Aune so I will not comment on anything sounding better, wider, cleaner or anything like that. If you are looking for an amp only unit this is a very good purchase. Massdrop recently dropped this along with their aune dac for $200. Thats right you can get the amp and dac for less than you would get this by itself and THAT is a steal. As far as solid states are concerned at least in the sub $500 range I believe an amp is just an amp (take that with a grain of salt).As it stands I am waiting for my darkvoice to pair with me senheiser gear and I shipped out my MK3's to modhouse to convert to the Argons and convert it to a balanced connection which I think will pair tremendously well with this amp once I get all my gear back.The build quality is great and feel sturdy and heavy. The amp does get hot over time so I would not recommend leaving it on all the time. The on / off is located in the back so If you are not using it for desktop purposes it might become cumbersome to navigate the switch.

More than enough class a power for 99.9% of headphones and exceptional sound / build quality to boot. Also looks pretty sweet on your desk. Just be careful of the output impedance if you have really efficient IEMs or headphones. I've had no problem powering AD700X (38 ohm), HD598SE(50 ohm), HD660S (150 ohm), and HD880S (300 ohm) but something worth noting.

A steal at this price for a balanced Class-A standalone amp. Aside from the legitimate audio quality increase over the Aune X1s built in amp. It is extremely well built on top of that. The RCA preamp out is nice and linear. The rear power switch makes it look great but the can be a pain to turn on and off if you place it under a shelf etc.

Amazing amp. Even when I use the singe ended output I can hear a clear difference in quality between this and my O2. It sounds much more spacious, realistic and binaural and it is an amazing upgrade for the price.

It sounds better than my Ezra deckard it's all there I had to turn the dip switches down 00 which it has no gain which works perfect for my headphones i had the marantz headphone amp at least 5 last year I rely on this amp two thumbs up
