So far it is great. Tested the range with a handheld radio on the low power setting and could still hear the music a couple houses down. From inside a car, I was amazed at how good it sounded. The audio quality was as good as you might get listening to the song directly off of Spotify. There is a slight hum when no audio is playing but it is very quiet, and I can hardly hear it. The buttons on the front panel do seem to be a bit wiggly but isn't an issue. The size is very close (albeit a few inches bigger) to the size of a Raspberry Pi (which I am using to control my light show). If you don't set the volume knob correctly you will get lots of distortion, but it was not too difficult to set the volume so that there is no distortion. Going into this purchase I was nervous with some of the reviews but, now that I have tried it, I can say this is a very good transmitter and I think it will work perfectly for my light shows. :)

Using this for transmitting audio to go along with a projection mapped house display. Easy to set-up, and using the 'low' transmit power it is clear for about 50 yards around my house, which is all I need.

I took a chance on this unit, since the power switch on my Whole-House FM transmitter became unreliable. I'm glad I bought this one. Note that this is $79, 1/2 the price of the Whole House, yet puts out about 2x the power. I use it on "Low" power, which is 0.5mW. "High" is too powerful and distorts the audio on my nearest receivers. Note that there are other versions of this unit that are about 2x the price (about $150). This $75 unit appears to be exactly the same as the others. There is also a newer version with an extendable whip antenna. I wanted this one for $4 more due to the helical, short antenna which seems of higher quality. The display on this one is brighter than the new one, too. The tiny power button on this one seems flimsy, so I'm leaving the unit on 24/7, even though I only listen to the radio about 8 hours a day.

I purchased the transmitter a month ago for home use. I use it to stream on multiple FM radios placed in various rooms in my house. Sound quality was good but what drove me and the family nuts was a background hum. You would hear it very clearly and strongly between songs. The hum would also affect the overall clarity. I tried various levels, Bluetooth devices, direct 3.5 mm connection, ETC with no avail. I did some search and used some try and error RF suppression tricks until I wrapped a foil around the base of the antenna bolted to the box and another foil around the power supply. That took place of at least 90% of the hum. Now the sound is much clearer, crisper and much less annoying as the hum is mostly gone. Wished they had a ferret core or something provided in the box or at least an explanation of that anomaly and it possible fixes in the leaflet. Overall, I recommend this product as a cost effective solution for those who would like to stream in a larger home with multiple devices. (Also a good idea to search for the least used/busy frequencies in your zip code, this helps with avoiding clashing interferences).

Moved from Chicago to Boston but still wanted to listen to Chicago radio stations while doing house and yard work with my radio headphones. Worked awesome, streamed via Tune In app from phone to transmitter. That’s the good. The bad is it worked for less than 2 weeks. It won’t turn any on more. Returning. Look elsewhere, this is not reliable.
