Economical but effective car clay.Car clay is used to remove embedded particles from your car's clear coat paint finish. The clay will grab and pull the particulate contaminants from the car's soft clear coat. After the contaminants have been removed, you can proceed to sealing the paint with wax.Please note that you do not and should not clay your car with your weekly car cleaning. You only need to use the clay if the paint still feels rough after you clean the car. Spray a liquid lubricant on the surface and then move the clay back and forth on the surface. Do not put a lot of pressure. You are not buffing the car. You are simply sliding the clay across the paint. Turn the clay and periodically flip to a clean side. Some car clays come with a spray bottle of lubricant, but soapy water works just as well.Clay is a gentle abrasive. It is safe to use for most paints. This product, Towel Motors Car Clay Bar, is an awesome deal. You get two clay bars, packed in a tin container. There is a sheet of wax paper inside to keep the clay from drying out. Highly recommended.

These are high quality clay bars. I like the metal box the two bars come in to keep the clay in after use. I recommend keeping your open clay bars inside a zip lock bag inside the metal box to keep it soft and to prevent any other dirt from ever getting into the clay bars. I cleaned glass tractor cab windows inside and out with these clay bars before treating the windows with the Aquapel glass treatment, to make the glass shed water and not spot and streak up. Even on glass which was only a few months old, the clay bars pulled a lot of "debris" off the glass which could scratch it.The clay bars help pull off all debris and you will be surprised what they remove from the surfaces which appear "clean". Always make sure to use these with a very good cleaning or polishing solution as you want the surface to be wet when using the clay bars, whether it's a car paint finish or glass. On my vehicles paint surfaces, I like to use the clay bars with the spray "Dry Washing" or "polishing" type spray products so the surface is clean and shiny when finished.As with any clay bars used in the clay process, turn the clay bar often and make sure to work the debris it picks up into the clay so it doesn't scratch the surface. When your clay bars reach a point where there are no more clean surfaces on them, throw them away and order new ones. When you start to use these, it's a good idea to work the clay in your hands to soften it up and make it as malleable as possible. The more "worked" the clay bar, the better they do their job.

This clay bar has to be use with detail lube sopiwater won't do, but works fine.

I do not like returning items but when I did my Chevy Colorado with this product it left a smear over my whole truck. I only used a half a bar of ( 2) I used as told to do per directions. The product was packaged very well, the clay was super easy to mold or kneed but again left a awful smear on my truck. My truck has a good paint finish and the clay bar did lift some of the that items off the paint as it said it would. But I feel Ill have to hand wax my whole truck to see if it will make the finish look right again, I am requesting a return and refund, Sorry did not work for me

The clay bars come in a nice container, and were well-packaged. The clay bars I received were much softer than other detailing clay I've used. I cut a piece of one bar and began claying my vehicle. The clay worked well in removing contaminants, but was noticeably stickier than other clay bars I've used. Working under an LED lamp, I didn't notice any marring, sccratching, or transfer of clay on the paint. Since the clay was so soft, it would tend to flatten out quickly even with light pressure, making it more difficult to work with. I was working in ~80 degree (F) weather.Overall, it's not bad for the price, but it wouldn't be on the top of my list for recommendations.

Clay bars are freaking cool! I never cared much about detailing my vehicles until I bought one I really love (2000 Mazda Miata MX-5 LS) and this really pulled off tons of debris I thought soap suds would handle.The clay lasts a long time. I've found that folding it over does not scratch my top-coat at all, despite multiple uses. I cut a small wedge and have used the piece about 3-4 times. The tissue paper for storing them isn't great but if I peel it back slowly, the paper doesn't stick too much. It helps to wet it a little with soapy water. They do leave a residue that you'll need to clean off before you wax so an isopropyl-water mixture in a spray bottle is essential.I feel like the value of this kit is quite high; similar bars offer less clay and storage options for higher prices. Just be careful when using this clay and not dropping it on the ground as it'll pick up any debris and you don't need to decrease its usable life. Happy claying!

Very soft clay, so soft to the point it hardly removes any contaminates. This clay is almost pointless to use. As a detailer im always looking and trying new products, and was kind of excited to try this stuff out as it looked promising. The packaging is clearly where all the money was spent! Nice aluminum can, plastic bag for storage, and a silk carrying case?! No clue why all this is needed for clay bars?After trying to remove just some wax and tar from clean paint, I found this stuff was useless. After spending 5 minutes on the same area with it, I gave up, and pulled out my cheap backup clay bar I have from Mothers. It worked 10 times better, which even that stuff isnt the greatest clay.Do not waste your money on this clay. The tin can and silk carrying case (that can double as sunglasses case) might be worth it though! haha
