Best Thermos I've ever used!
This is my first (and hopefully only) stainless steel thermos I'll ever use. Even before I used it, it fell out of my backpack onto concrete. Not a problem for this bottle. Barely even a dent. I've dropped this thing over 5 times since I bought it and it still works great. Even when I've dropped it completely full of liquid it hasn't caused much visible damage nor caused my hot or cold beverage to leak!I use this to keep my morning coffee hot for most of the day and my water nice and cold. I made tea at 2am one morning and when I woke up at 11 it was still warm! When I forget it in my dorm I always feel like I'm missing something . . . Even when my fresh coffee burns my mouth the outside of the bottle feels cool/room temperature to the touch. How does it do that?!One thing I would note is that while this bottle is essentially leak proof, if you fill it up too much some of the liquid can creep underneath the seal when you screw on the top. If this happens the liquid that was pushed up above the seal ends up slowly coming out and can give the impression that it's leaking. So long as you don't fill it up too much you won't have to worry about this problem.I really like the design of the mouth piece at the top as liquid easily flows into your mouth; however, know that especially with coffee there will naturally be some residue after drinking as the opening is not made to have the extra liquid naturally flow back into the storage part of the thermos. Because of this I would not advise putting any thicker liquids in the thermos. As a whole: this product does exactly what I need it to do: keeps my coffee really hot while also keeping my water really cold.

a great updated product and fast delivery...but
hello, this is a replacement for an older version that broke. the actual hinged cap broke off after two years of use daily. the replacement cost is minimal, but getting through to order it online is a mess. a new one delivered to our door was faster and better. now, we have a back up stainless container that fits the new hinged cap. but, we will eventually order a replacement cap for our older version. this is one of the best commuter containers for keeping coffee hot. a good day's worth of hot and in the afternoon, it is still warm/hot for a great pick me up. thermos makes a great product. for those that have the older stainless bottle with nissan/thermos on the label, this is the upgraded version of that older model. the flip cap is now black hiding those coffee stains and drops on the older white inner portion. a great improvement, but it still needs to be cleaned daily or the coffee stains will load up on the surfaces. a great product and fast deliveryupdate: the ordering of the replacement cap is a nightmare, so be careful of opening and closing this lid/cap. it is the weak link in this great thermos bottle. the plastic hinge is the smallest hinge ever and it works. but, sometimes the lid gets sucked into the stainless bottle from cooling and it is hard to get the top off. it is very easy to pop open the lid and then unscrew the lid/top off. warning: after you pop off the lid and let the pressure ease, put it back on to unseal the stuck top. otherwise, the small hinge will take the brunt of force when unscrewing the lid from the bottle. therefore put the lid/cap back on and then unscrew the whole thing from the bottle.it still is the best thermos for keeping coffee hot during the day, but keep the lid in mind when getting ready to clean the whole thing... the thermos co. just does not answer their customer service phone and there is no other way to order just the lid/cap.

Best travel mug I've ever used
I've tried many travel mugs in my day, both leak-proof and not. I've been using this one for a few days now and have nothing but good things to say about it. For me, a travel mug needs to have 2 traits to be great - keep my drink warm for as long as possible and if it claims to be "leak-proof", it actually is with no caveats. As far as keeping beverages warm, if you preheat the mug before putting your drink in it in the morning, it's keeps it hot for hours and, at the very least, warm all day. 'Nuff said.As far as it's leak-proof-ness, it seems to be flawless so far. I commute by train and throw the thing in my bag when I leave the house and when I get to the office, no leakage at all. As far as I can tell, it's damn near impossible for this thing to open in a bag because the button would need to be depressed (which would be difficult since it's recessed into the lid) AND the little metal ring would need to be unclipped from the up position into the down position. If you're a non-car commuter looking for a travel mug to keep your beverage hot for a really long time and not have to worry about it leaking if you toss it in your bag, look no further! This is the mug you want! If you commute by car, it's great too because it's nice and narrow and would fit in most (if not all) cup holders.NOTE - because it is tall and narrow, the only thing I'd recommend is owning a bottle brush to be able to clean it thoroughly. That is, if you you're not going to use a dishwasher. Because it's dishwasher safe too! It just keeps getting better and better!
