In the music store, it stopped me in my tracks. One beautiful guitar. Not expensive either.
OK...the neck takes a bit to get used to. It's just a different neck than any other Fender I've played. Just a different profile. Got used to it after a few days of playing. Things to do. I had to add a thicker piece of foam under the pickups so they would adjust and STAY where I put them. The original foam collapsed enough so the pickups needed a shove to keep them where I adjusted them as far as string to pickup distance. Another thing. The vibrato tail piece adds length, so your high E string needs to be very long, or you might have a problem having enough string to wrap around the post. Researched the pickups, and they are nothing like actual Jazzmasters. This is not a problem. Actual Jazzmaster pickups are very shallow so the winds start thickening out really fast as they are wound. These pickups, according to the research, are more like P 90's. They have the usual hum of a single coil, but when ran together they are hum cancelling. Tuners are as good as vintage styles. It is a bit on the heavy side and these don't drop into a regular Fender case. Body dimensions are larger that a strat or tele. No problems with the neck or frets. If you wanted to get picky, most of these cheaper guitars like Squire or Epiphones could use a pro fret level/re-crown to be perfect, but I play mostly blues and would have the string action set where I have it anyway. Essentially this could be an amazing guitar with some pro set up time put into it. I just figure Squire, like Epiphone, there is so much time allotted during this guitars going through the factory to being shipped out the door. Hence, a cheaper guitar. This isn't always the case though. I have a recent Squire '72 Telecaster Thinline with the Fender style large humbuckers, and it was great right out of the box. Best of luck with your purchase. Oh yeah, the candy apple red with the gold anodized pickguard with black pickup covers and black knobs........WOW! A couple of things to add. These guitars come out of the factory strung with extra light .009's. I put a set of D'addario Jazz/Rock 11 to 49 with the unwound third. Make sure you get the unwound third set. They make the same set except it has a wound third. Guitar feels much better with a little heavier strings. Also, the vibrato arm seems sloppy loose. Put it in the hole and give it a whack with the heel of your hand. It will seat firmly and stay put instead of flopping around.

Great Guitar
I love this guitar. I was surprised with how good the pickups sound, No need to replace them. In fact, I would be scared to swap them because I love the clean sounds so much. This guitars setup, I was again surprised. I've bought an American telecaster with a horrible factory setup, and this cheap guitar came perfectly setup. I love the neck on this guitar, but that is more personal taste. The only negative thing I have to say about this guitar is the tuning keys are horrible. I retune at least every 10-15 minutes. those can easily be replaced though.

A superb latter day Squier - they have taken the bad parts of the VM version a few years ago - likened it to a Mascis versionI cannot fathom the quality for price point! The neck is sublime and better than the Tele Squier CV I already own and 2 Squier Strats (CV 50 and CV 60). A no brainer - I am now in Surf heaven with a Boss FRV1!
