Highly recommend
GREAT incubator! Easy to use. Love how it functions. Really nice design. Can accommodate various size eggs: chicken, turkey, duck eggs. Automatic - it does the work for you. Could not be happier with the versatility.

Great product
54 out of 56 eggs hatched. Humidity and temp was on point the whole 21 days. The only downside about this product is you have to take the lid apart in order to clean it which is a bit of a hassle if you can't put it back together correctly

Worth the money
Set it up immediately. There is a little bit of work required to set it up but once the hoses are connected it’s ready to roll! I love this incubator because you can adjust your humidity electronically versus fighting to keep the humidity where you want it manually. Been running for 2 days and the humidity fluctuates about 5% before the pump kicks on to siphon water tonight correct it. It is worth the money if you plan to incubate for a few years. Got a clutch of silkie eggs in there now.

Defective power Cord
Very disappointed with this incubator!!! Ive owned a Brinsea before and although the cord was a bit lose, it wasnt this bad. This one, the power cord just falls out and even with tape supporting it, it has to be in an exact spot to power up. If you wiggle it, or it moves even slightly, it causes it to turn off constantly. Im pretty sure my eggs are dead and for a $470 incubator, the cord should fit in snugly and not have this issue.

Rock solid but with durability issue
Best incubator I've used in decades of poultry raising. The Brinsea is rock solid on temperature control. It's excellent on humidity for most of incubation period and decent to good on late stage humidity. The latter is one of those get-to-know the device issues. And the humidity for 7/8th of the process is flawless.I am in my fifth year of using my Brinsea 56 Ex. So my review is unusual in that it's a rather long-term evaluation. Two maintenance issues are a pain, but only one of them is serious. The more minor issue is the need to replace, every year, the short internal humidity tube that winds around the capstan pump. I get anxious every time, but it's not that big a deal. Especially if you refresh your memory with one of Brinsea's excellent YouTube videos. I guess I am getting old and don't want to fiddle! And for the price, I wish I didn't have to.Which brings me to the cleaning issue and the related serious durability problem. To continue to see through the top, you must clean off the chick down that collects on the inside of the top. Wiping off the down is easy. But doing this requires you to remove six small screws that hold the inner liner below the top. Four of the screws are tiny and do not unscrew easily, even with a small screwdriver I've dedicated to this task.Furthermore, the screws insert into plastic housings that join the top and the inner liner together. In the fifth year/fifth time I cleaned, two of those housings cracked, one seriously. Probably Brinsea would say it's an over-tightening issue. And it probably is. But it's uber challenging to always stop the screws perfectly. And it frustrates me that there aren't small wingnut style bolts or some such instead of these tiny screws. Most of all, there should be a steel sleeve in the plastic for the screws. This year, my inner liner appears to be sagging in one corner because the screw won't hold in the cracked housing. The key role of the inner liner seems to be to keep chicks away from the fan. But since I hatch in separate baskets or mesh bags, for pedigree purposes, I hope I can remove the inner liner without much consequence. Otherwise, this mostly great, expensive incubator is shot after five uses.

Digital doesn't work on brand new incubator
Very disappointed got this as a christmas gift from my husband for this springs hatching season(2025) opened it and set up plugged it in and the digital screen will not show anything!! Absolutely devastating i was so excited to use this incubator, I will not spend another $500 just to hope the next one works!! We are l out $500 on this thing now. Absolutely horrible way to open and use a brand new product!!Update: 1/29/25 emailed brinsea and they were wonderful very helpful and knowledgeable. They are sending me a new part to see if it makes my incubator work correctly! Can't wait to update again after I get it!!

Humidity pump issues
The media could not be loaded. Although I thought this incubator was terrific, it only worked really well 1x. The second time we used it, it would not hold humidity - we went back and forth in email with Brinsea. We just completed a 3rd hatch on 2/11/23 - so we have had the incubator a little over a year. Humidity pump stopped working altogether during the hatch. 3 goslings could not get out of their shells. 2 of the 3 died. Upsetting to watch. I now am emailing with Brinsea again. We have changed out the tubing 2x. It is set up correctly. I have just been forwarded to a second person. I am waiting to hear. I would like them to replace the head of the unit. I don't want to have to send this one for repair. It's a hassle and lengthy for time - plus expensive to mail. I will update this review when a solution has been provided. July 2023 - This problem was resolved by Brinsea. I did have to send it to Florida. Brinsea paid for return mail which they dont normally do but the incubator was used for one hatch. So humidity pump was replaced and it works fine. 9/15/23 Customer service was so good (thank you Jermaine) that I ordered a second incubator. Through the Brinsea store @Amazon. Amazon sent a used unit. $478.32 and it was used. I did not accept it. I ordered a return. UPS will come and take it tomorrow. If they knocked a couple hundred dollars off of the price, I might have kept it. No, their only resolution was return. If you order this unit through Walmart online it is sent directly from Brinsea in Florida. A new - brand new unit. So that is what I did. The incubator, if you get a new one it comes with a 3 year warranty. Its a good carefree unit. Its all good.
