Works great, wish it were just a bit thicker.
As others have mentioned, the thickness isn't exactly 3/8. However it's still enough to give some cushion. I should've gotten the thickest mat, but the price was just too much for the carpet I purchased. It came folded up but easily unpacked. It didn't have a severe off-gassing like some of the non-slip mats have.Easy enough to cut down to size, and now it's perfect for the rug I have. Also the non-slip is perfect. The rug doesn't slide at all.My only gripe about the entire endeavor is the first item shipped to me was carpet squares instead of the correct item. It took almost 3 weeks to get the correct item,. Whether that's Amazon's screw up or theirs, I am unsure, but it really soured me on the whole endeavor. I actually ordered the carpet after I ordered the mat, and it arrived a week before, so it meant the carpet sat around while waiting for this.Pros:- Stays put- Easy to put down, and cut- No nasty rubber off-gassingCons:- Not exactly 3/8, more like 1/4.- Shipping woes (unsure if it was anything other than just a mixup)

Worth every penny
I just moved into a house with hardwood floors so this was all new to me. After looking and looking and reading reviews from Pottery Barn to Wayfair to Amazon, I decided to go with this rug pad. The reviews were correct and right on and of course the price was right. The pad laid down flat right away even though it was folded when arrived. It is soft yet firm and was the exact size they said it was. Add that I got it in 2 days and this is just a win win.

Bought the 3/8 thick pad. Excellent with 1 caution
Bought this for my not so plush rug. It’s excellent with one caution. I purchased the 5 by 7 and it fit perfectly, makes the rug softer, and keeps the rug in place. The 3/8 thickness fit the rug perfectly but the rug was a little off the ground and I felt it would be a tripping hazard so I trimmed about 2 inches all around so the edges of the rug could lay flat. It worked and I’m happy with the purchase. If you have to trim yours, I would suggest very sharp scissors

Great! Rug isn't slipping any more
Just finished cutting to size this rug pad for my smallest (6x8) rug that sits under my dining room table.I have hardwood floors and was mostly looking for something to stop my rug from slipping, and the padding was just an extra benefit so I got the 1/4" thickness. There's a very faint smell when I first opened the package, but now as I'm sitting at the dining room table 30 mins later I'm not smelling anything at all.I'm so happy with how well this is holding the rug to the floor, and I'm about to order two more for the larger rugs that I have in the living room and bedroom!

Uneven pad
The size of this pad is off but no big deal as I needed to cut some off anyway. The main issue I have is the unevenness of the pad. It is so thick in one corner that my rug is sort of hanging off the floor. That is a trip hazard. Returning the pad will be a hustle and probably not possible as I cut off two inches already. Now I need to figure out what to place on the rug in that corner to let it stay down and prevent traffic in that area. Really annoying!

Worth every penny!
I used to think these weren't worth the expense, but I have changed my mind. It works great in our family room on hardwood. It doesn't move and gives extra substance to a thin but very soft 9X12 rug.

Great rug liner.
Very happy with my purchase. I looked at other brands after I couldn't get the kind I bought 10 years ago, and found this one. I like it better than the ones I had. Easy to trim to size. Will definitely buy again.

Comfort underfoot
This pad will increase the longevity of your runner. Made for use on hardwood or carpet. So much better than the cheap thin pads. You get what you pay for. This is the best pad I have seen ever.

Don’t Waste Your Money!
We purchased two of these under-pads for our area rugs on carpet. Neither work and the carpets constantly curl up. We can’t return them as we had to cut each to fit as per the instructions. I did contact Mohawk via email right from their own website and included pictures of the rugs curling. No one ever got back to me so I definitely wouldn’t recommend this company especially after we paid almost $350 for two under-pads. If your looking for carpet on carpet pads, don’t waste your money with this brand.

Really like the product but the company has serious sizing and cutting problems.
I have actually purchased this product previously and i think it is good but this time there were very irritating problems. I ordered specific sizes that they had on their website because they were exactly the size I needed. Do NOT rely on their advertised measurements. They were not even close on width and had to cut excess width off. The length was actually shorter by about an inch and to make matters worse the length cuts were NOT square to the sides. I know its hard to believe since they are in this business and you would think they surely have a way to make square cuts on their roll products. NOT SO for me! If you still want some I suggest you buy a bigger piece than actually needed as I had to trim mine anyways and make sure you have a good blade tool or a heavy duty sharp scissors for cutting the excess off.

Better than expected
I just purchased a fairly inexpensive low pile 8x10 area rug and I knew it wasn't going to be very comfortable without a underpad. But, since budget is a concern I didn't really want to spend as much or more on an underpad. Those super cheap ones suck though and they leave marks on the flooring, so I decided to splurge a bit. Went with the quarter inch and it's better than anticipated based on reviews. The 8x10 pad was bigger than the rug, but cutting wasn't a big deal. Maybe the thicker padding would be harder to cut. It actually sticks pretty well on the floor with rubber side down. Carpet seems to stay put on the pad. We have a couch and a big chair on our carpet, so I can't comment on how it would all stay put if just floating in the middle of a room on its own. It's a little pricey for what it is i think, but overall very glad I purchased this. It definitely made a difference with comfort.

Excellent Product
Just set this up and it is perfect. I have a thin rug, similar to cotton rugs from the rug collective and it was always slipping around, and looked bad. This is thick, doesn't slip AT ALL, I have it on laminate flooring. Really happy with the quality of this. The top is rough, so it grabs my carpet and the bottom is grippy, so it hangs onto the floor. I got the 5x8 to put under a 6x9.5 rug. Wish I had gotten a bigger size since I can see where it drops down on the edges from the pad, but the price difference was huge between this size and the size I really needed. This still does what I want and doesn't look bad. Overall would give this product a 10/10.

Works alright
The non slip underlay arrived intact and as advertised. I put it under our living room area rug as well as our marching front entry runner. It’s okay but not great. While the grippy side means it sticks to our floor great the topside has some sort of coating on the felt and doesn’t have enough grip to keep your rug from sliding entirely. It’s not a problem in the living room because I have a heavy coffee table on top of it so the rug doesn’t migrate, but the runner has only gone from “not an immediate death sentence” to “tripping hazard” due to the rug slipping around every time it’s walked on.
