Yes it does. All the parts in Sennheiser's HD 600 series are interchangeable. That includes the 6XX.

How (and exactly where) do you insert the foam discs?

The foam discs go between the new pads and the drivers. When you remove the current ear pads there should be a piece of foam already on there, replace it.
