Cool kit that works well
I had no problem raising some triops with this kit. They hatched and grew with ease, and in only a few days, I had little babies swimming around. I did end up moving my large ones to a bigger tank where they could dig in some substrate, and they eventually reproduced! Kit comes with everything you need to start your triops journey. Do some of your own research to make sure you can accommodate these cool critters as they grow. They only live for a few months. Good quality food, eggs that hatch and instructions that are easy to follow. Took me back to the Scholastic Book Fair days. Tons of fun, and my kid loved it.

No eggs hatched
Bought as a birthday gift for myself as i loved them as a kid. Unfortunately after following the directions and waiting the appropriate time, not a single triop hatched. Big letdown :(

Fun to try, hard to keep alive.
Four stars because these things are harder to keep alive than Sea Monkeys. We had 5-6 triops hatch from this kit, and the majority were able to grow well, though only a couple made it to around pinky-nail size or larger. They were cute and fun to watch and feed, but I don't think we made it to the two week mark before the final one kicked the bucket. A true bummer because they grow fast and are crazy to watch. We followed the directions with cleaning and feeding, but just weren't able to make it happen. If they were less fragile it would be great to have a filtered tank system to keep the aquarium clean continually.

Very good as a starter kit (experienced guys, just go for the eggs)
Get this kit if you're just starting out because it gives you EVERYTHING. Sure, the container that comes with it is super flimsy and cheap, and you'll probably want to switch to a microwave-style plastic container in the long-run, but this kit is important because it more or less makes it easy to get started: limestone (important to increase the water pH if you add dead leaves to your hatchery like I do), spirulina (algae for the baby triops), adult food, and sand/eggs all in one kit. If you're new at hatching these, you have to start somewhere, and I continue to use the limestone and spirulina with my other hatcheries. I more or less gave 5 stars across the board only because I heard good things about this company (they actually sell triops eggs, not fairy shrimp or Sea-Monkeys like other kits) and I appreciate them even selling such an oddball (in a good way) product in the first place. My entire family has enjoyed learning about triops. The fact it's educational is just the cherry on top.

Triops will eat each other.
I started with a slightly bigger tank because I needed one with a heater. I put the eggs in, and in 20 hours, one hatched. It was about the size of a comma. Over the next few days, I saw about 15 more, but the one that hatched first quickly ate all the new arrivals not long after they hatched. I think the instructions not to feed for 72 hours were bad advice; once it got the taste for triops, it was unstoppable! Powered by baby triops, this one has grown so fast and has eaten all the food every time I feed it, despite giving it more than the recommended amounts. Days 5-7: one adult pellet gone in seconds, carrots consumed completely within a few hours. I put the eggs in the tank 6 1/2 days ago and he is already over an inch long! He is very feisty and is always moving.

Horrible, missing most of the parts from the box
Don't waste your money! My son opened this on Christmas morning to find that it was missing the majority of the items that were supposed to be included. The only thing in the box was a tiny plastic dish that was so cheap and a plastic pipette. We were missing the eggs, food, gravel and everything else. Very disappointing to open this on Christmas morning. I should have read the other reviews more carefully.

Got the product. Hatches out a lot. Then eventually eight survived. Never use distill water and if you cannot find spring water. Use tap water and apply the chlorine removal used for fish or turtle works best. The survival for triops eventually is always going to be very low. So ending up with just a few surviving and growing up well is not a surprise.
