Doesnt have as many holes for venting that earlier versions had, but the metal is thicker than the early models. That said, that may be how the price is kept low—and where it ought to be. I used to put holes in a large fruit can and get a usable chimney starter. But this is far better and much easier to set-up. Works like a charm.

Compact piece for easy lighting of charcoal briquettes. Does what it’s design to do. BTW, The Amazon packing paper served an additional purpose when it came time to light the briquettes.
