Stylish, Comfortable, Lightweight, Supportive, And Great Quality...Rockport Chranson
My new Rockport Chransons have become my favorite 'go-to' shoes for my work these days. I am a pharmacist, and standing on my feet all day as I do, I need a comfortable shoe with a considerable amount of support in the arch/heel region. These lightweight shoes definitely are everything the manufacturers claim they are; lightweight, supportive, and comfortable. I am a size 11 D and, as much as I like these shoes, must express some minor criticism regarding the fit of this shoe for prospective buyers. My first criticism is that each of my big toes were pressed against the front of their respective shoe. This made me consider returning my purchase in exchange for a 1/2 size larger. I decided to allow them to stretch out a bit and wore them for the next week or so as an experiment. I'm happy to relate that this strategy worked for me, since the toe box DID stretch out sufficiently with wear. Nevertheless, many of you reading my review may want to purchase this shoe in a larger size. I didn't find the toe box to be too narrow for me, but the toe box was a tad short for me initially. I've never purchased the Rockport brand before, and have traditionally relied on other brands like Ecco and Brooks over the years. Without exception, I have have found the Ecco and Brooks brands of shoe to be consistent in sizing for my feet. This was NOT the case with my first Rockport purchase, so forewarned is forearmed. Two months have elapsed since I initially purchased my Rockports and I still find them to be extremely comfortable shoes to walk about and stand in while at work. I have plantar fasciitis and also wear a custom heel/arch support from GoodFeet. They slide underneath the standard insole and fit quite well. I highly recommend these lightweight, comfortable, and supportive shoes and would gladly purchase them again. Rockport certainly seems to be a great brand of shoe---just be careful with the sizing(specifically the length rather than the width). I hope this helps prospective buyers.

6‘6“ tall size 14 shoe
I had been wearing a heavy duty sneaker and lately. It just seems to not be giving me any support so I was looking around Amazon and found the shoes and skeptically ordered them thinking there’s no way for this price. They can be any good even with the Rockport name. Well, I was quite surprised when I opened the box today and found a great pair of fitting shoes. The medium and very snug. I am so happy with this choice. It’s unbelievable. I am definitely gonna order another pair when I manage to wear these out but they’re comfortable they’re not bulky they’re not heavy and they don’t look like diabetic shoes. They look like fancy shoes which they are and I will be glad to wear them any place I go. Plus black always fits in with everything. So I do have low vision and I’m using Siri to write this. Please excuse any strange words or phrases and I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my review. I hope you have a great day and remember Put your best foot forward :-) take care.

Near perfext shoes, except for the laces
UPDATE 4-6-19: Time to get some new shoes. Bought September of 2017, so around 19 months of hard use. I work in a warehouse as well as a live event tech. Most days I do 5-15k steps on concrete and carpeted ballrooms. These shoes have held up reasonably well, but have significant wear points. The inside against my heal is fraying and ripped very badly, the insoles were completely worn away after ~13 months and I replaced them in January. The replacements in-soles are pretty much destroyed now too. There are parts of the bottom of the shoe that are loose and flaking off. For ~$70 I feel like 19 months was a decent amount of time for the shoe to last, works out to less than $4 a month. I would suggest getting an oval shoelace replacement. My gait causes shoelaces to untie very easily and these are no exception. Love Rockport shoes, some of the most comfortable shoes I have owned and run a bit wide, which is perfect for my feet. I really only wear a 9.5-10, but my feet are wide so in the past, I have had shoes up to 11 just to fit my foot width. I have another pair of Rockports, forget the model but its more boot-like, and they have held up for almost 6 years. The insoles need to be replaced, but the shoes themselves are still in good shape. These shoes still feel great at this point and I expect them to last for years. My only complaint with Rockport shoes are the shoelaces. They have very little friction to them and come un-knotted throughout the day. The only way to keep mine knotted is to double knot, but then it is a major pain to take them off.

Perfect size, color, comfort
I have had the brown exact version from Rockport for 20 years - in perfect condition. Am pleased to have this black version - same comfort, same quality.

They're not the quality they used to be. Very disappointed.
My stepdad has worn this style Rockports for years, and they were always comfortable and long-lasting. I ordered him a new pair Aug 2024 when he was in physical rehab, to be ready for him when he came home a few months later. Since his release, he rarely leaves his house, and only walks between his bedroom, kitchen, and living room. And after only 10 months, the soles separated from the shoe. I see this is a common occurrence now, and it's very disappointing. All of his previous pairs lasted years, and that was when he was active and outdoors. After many years of being brand-faithful, we won't be buying Rockports going forward.

Catch these on sale and you will have a deal in your cart.
Positives: I got the issues specifically for walking as an exercise, I had injured my Achilles tendon earlier in the year and after consultation with the podiatrist I was advised to get a sturdy shoe for walking. Oddly enough there was no preference given to shoes that were marketed as orthopedic additionally there wasn't any clear brand recommended. This particular shoe by Rockport seemed to meet many of the qualifications. After wearing them I found the following, very sturdy in the ankle, good shock absorption at the heel build into the shoe itself, good shock absorption build into the shoe itself at the forefoot region, external soul stiff and durable, the Shank into the shoe Is solid. And these recommendations matched what I was told by my podiatrist. Negatives: these shoes are a little heavy but that is stated on the website and in advertising. The shoe collar Is too high on both internal and external portions of the shoe and for me it gets uncomfortable I am hoping that this will improve in time. The biggest disappointment is the use of a poor insert from the factory it is flimsy and not significantly padded. It offers no additional arch support that I can feel and it has no shank reinforcement additionally it has no discernible heel cup therefore I removed mine. The shoelaces although they are quite hefty they're not the best at holding a knot. I probably have about 40 miles on these at this point and After removing the factory inserts and replacing them with some Powerstep inserts I'm pretty satisfied. In terms of fit I bought an entire size larger than my normal size secondary to an anticipation to add an additional insert, I wear padded socks and I think my foot is grown. My toes feel great in these shoes and the heel cup is superior to most of my shoes the stability and support excel and that is exactly what I was looking for. I would suggest that everybody in America look for a pair of good walking shoes, it seems that our economy is going to be crushed and I don't know where we'll be able to walk to but it will be nice to have that ability and with these Rockports at least you'll have a chance

Comfort for half the price
Greetings! I went from Brooks Walking Addiction shoes to these, and I was hoping they would hold up through the brutal 5-8 miles of nonstop work on concrete with my job. Well after over a year of abuse, my Brooks finally gave up and went to the shoe store in the sky. I needed new shoes, but money was tight and I couldn't afford the Brooks, even though regular shoes do not last a month in my line of work. I went with these Rockports and held my breath while putting them on. Oh, hallelujah. They are actually super comfortable. Many of you have commented that they feel broken in as you put them on, and I can attest to that. They are very comfortable from the start. Now, I have had them about a month. But, my shoes still look brand new. I notice no visible wear on them even after the abuse I have already put them through. These shoes are also nice enough that I wore them to a funeral with a button-up and dress pants. Thus, they will work as dress shoes. The only con I can think of is the sole is not as thick as I would like for them to be. I walk my dog in these and we walk on gravel, and I can occasionally feel a gravel poke at my foot through my shoe, whereas on my Brooks I never felt that. I also feel as though some of the cushion has worn down, which is to be expected as much as I walk. They are still my preferred shoe. I abuse them, and they are holding up. If these can make it to tax return time, I will probably purchase two pairs. If not, I guess I will go back to Brooks. But so far these Rockports are giving Brooks a run for their money. Nice product, Rockport.

Extremely comfortable and attractive casual shoes
i was surprised how well these shoes fit and molded to my feet. They are soft and yet still offer very good support. I replaced the inserts with SOLE orthotics (purchased from Amazon) and now I just hope the shoes last a long time, because I plan to spend a lot of time in them. The shoes have a kind of suede-like quality that begs for some kind of treatment; I applied Mink Oil to the shoes with good results and no detriment to their appearance. The round laces that come with these shoes tend to come untied easily, but of course they can be replaced.
