Farpoint Bahtinov Focus mask, FP410HT - fits Celestron 8" SCT with Hyperstar or Fastar

Fits my C8 well. Great aid for collimation. It’s a little busy for focusing but works well enough.

While the mask fits well and provides an easy way to focus/adjust collimation, removing it can be a bit tricky. The photos show a "tab" that sticks up to grab on to but of the 3 masks I used none have this tab so you need to carefully use your fingernails to pluck it out.

The media could not be loaded. It’s seems like it will work as intended. One issue that wasn’t taken into account is a dew heater ring being installed. For the mask to properly fit, the overall diameter of the mask (8-5/8”) needs to be smaller (7-7/8”) to lay inside the dew heater ring. When placed over the ring, the mask is askew. Will that have an impact on how well the mask works? I don’t know yet. Maybe Farpoint can weigh in.

The mask is a bit too small for my Celestron Evolution SCT, so I had to pad it around the edges myself. After doing that I was able to get the spikes and align them.
