Q: is this the single 4GB stick?

Yes it is definitely the 4GB stick. I ordered two so I would have a total of 8GB. I have 2 slots in my laptop. With two of these sticks installed, my Windows 7 OS (Start, then right click Computer and select Properties) indicates 8GB installed.

Q: Is this compatible with dell xps 1645?

You should look up the Dell model on their website and confirm that the Ram for your computer is the same speed, size and buffered or not.

Q: Would this work for hp dv4-4270uspavilion?

As long as your current memory is this same speed, yes, this module should work

Maxed out RAM on HP Pavilion G7-1368dx laptop

I made sure to get the same brand and specs as the single RAM stick already in the computer. The new RAM stick took some patience while pushing in the open slot, but then all of a sudden it went in nice and snug. The system recognized it without any problem, and now has a MUCH bigger cushion in RAM space. This was a nice, inexpensive upgrade. Using Windows 10.
