Very comfortable
Great cans, comfortable, great sound quality for what I use them for and I think an overall great purchase. I"d recommend this to anyone looking for some little bit, higher end cans.

Music production
Don't see many reviews by people using them for their primary purpose so here's one. I went through four pairs of ath m70x because they break so easily but was convinced my ears were trained to them. The last time they broke I did a little research and bought these. First thing I learned right away ..don't use closed back headphones for music production if not absolutely needed for the environment. The jump in detail and separation was night and day. I thought I was just broken and dumb because with my old more expensive set I just couldn't seem to get stuff where it needed to be. It was the cans. I found a super high pitch transient in an old mixdown I didn't even know was there. The bass is detailed and flat but has pressure. It's nearly a perfect studio curve for mastering...I can't say enough about what a game changer they are. At least at this price range I've tried nothing better

Head & shoulders above the competition in audio performance and comfort!
Beyerdynamic's DT 900 Pro X Open-Back wired studio headphones are head & shoulders above everything I've ever had the pleasure to use. Well-made & comfortable for hours, they sound neutral & uncolored yet are very dynamic & clean when the music demands bass, midrange, treble, or extreme dynamics. I am delighted with the sound quality, the build quality, & the bundle from Amazon vendor 6ave.

A big jump in quality
I've been used to headphones in the $100 range. This was a big jump, and based on another's recommendation. Wow! What a difference, particularly in the bass. Definitely higher quality in the materials in the headphones as well. These should last a long time. I particularly like the mini xlr connectors - a lot more solid than the mini headphone connectors and less interference. The open back was important to me because I need to hear my spouse if she needs me. No problem that way as well. All in all the best investment I've made recently.

Best Sounding Headphones
Bought these exactly 6 months ago. Best sounding headphones I've owned so far. The sound quality is amazing, especially when EQ'd. I use these hooked up to a Schiit stack, and they sound fantastic.Build quality, on the other hand, seems a bit lacking. For a pair of $250 headphones, I would have expected them to last longer than 6 months with regular use. As you can see from the pictures, the leather from the headband started separating. Had to take a star off for that.As an I.T. Technician, I couldn't let this slide. I pulled it apart and glued the leather back in place. for those of you DIY people, and want to fix this yourself, the screws are a T-6 6-star, located at each end of the headband.Along the edge of the leather is some kind of glue, like one would find their new credit card stuck with to the cardboard that comes in the mail. That has to be pulled off.The plastic is glue-resistant, so scoring it with a blade in an XXXX pattern along the edges between the tabs will help the glue hold everything in place. Then glue and stick. Be sure the leather goes under the tabs, they're needed to hold the headband together.Once the glue is set, snap everything back together and put the screws back in. Good as new.

Great sound and comfort, even with glasses
Coming from the Sennheiser 560S, I was expecting a fuller sound and more comfortable ear cups. I wear a size 8 hat, to let you know how big my head is. Even while wearing glasses, the 990X Pros fit great, have a good seal over my ears, and sound fantastic. Music, movies, YouTube, and video games all sound better than I expected, and even after 6-8 hours, they aren’t uncomfortable. 10/10 highly recommend.

Perfect phones for studio. Near audiophile for listening.
These are comfortable in the extreme and the sound quality is near audiophile. Plenty for studio tracking (if you're tracking something kind of loud) and definitely great for playback and mixing.

So Close Yet Very, Very Far Away
I bought this for content creation primarily and some gaming, but it's not great for either. For gaming, the sound location of the headphones had me unable to place where footsteps were. Very frustrating experience. As others have said, there is a high amount of treble in the sound. It wasn't a dealbreaker to me though. The absolute dealbreaker is the cable. The cable that comes with these headphones is made from pure evil. It is covered in a very grippy rubber, assuring that you will snag EVERYTHING within its reach and regularly yank your neck. Further, the mini XLR connecter that plugs into the bottom of the left ear cup is extremely long, and the end of it and the cable extending from it would push into my left shoulder. I could just use another audio cable I have lying around if they hadn't used the silly mini XLR type of connecter. This headset has an unforgivably bad ratio of cost to enjoyment. What a horrible experience, and I will avoid the name Beyerdynamic from now on.
