Defender Series - iPad Mini (6th gen)

This is a good cover for the iPad mini 6. I didn’t realize that the charging spot for the pencil doesn’t actually store the pencil. That’s a bit inconvenient. However, that’s my mistake in not checking carefully all the features. One thing I wonder about is the durability of the side latch that covers the pencil charging spot. Only time will tell how long it will last. It feels like a vulnerable area. Like the latch will break off with a lot of use. Other than that, I like the quality. I’ve always liked Otter Box, and the extra protection it gives. If the pencil latch fails, I’ll update. I’m hoping it will do well.

I only have owned OTTERBOX on every generation they've made from day one! If you know what the defender series is already like, they knocked it once again OUT OF THE PARK!!! These are by far the bench mark toughest and best made iPad cases on the planet! It truly doesn't at all surprise me when I hear bad reviews and it is really sad I actually held off a few months to do more reviewing and checking info on the whole new pen charging port. Since Apple launched the latest feature on there pens. Yes wireless charging! I love it! So when I wasn't sure from there lack of communication on this issue and how they have designed there latest mini 6th gen to accommodate this feature! I was very unsure on the whole issue. And I just received my new OTTER today and first thing I did was add the best screensaver I could get in $ reason I paid $12 on here and the case fit as advertised just right!!! All this negative feedback was so ridicules and that's an understatement!!! They did a flawless job and if your not familiar with the way they go together just watch YouTube and you'll find it extremely easy and amazed on the way the case just goes together magically as they have always done in there past models. OTTERBOX addressed these PARTY POPPERS so cordially! And on there defense they should of told them to pound sand! Almost forgot to mention the door does the trick, for charging purposes and after your done it just fits so snug and safe in the very important lid the tuck's everything all away safe! Buy this and don't even bother on anything else!!!

My iPad is perfectly safe in this case. I frequently bring it camping, boating, and into the workshop. My iPad has always left unscathed. It does add some bulk to an otherwise small device, but it's worth it for the safety-factor. The grip is perfect for one-handed use. The pen slot does loosen up gradually and allows the pen to go clinking around between the screen and the cover occasionally. The slot will not fit pens with grips. The pen charging door is sometimes difficult to open and is not able to be opened when the cover is attached.

Have been a otterbox/lifeproof customer for a while now and trust their products. It was a no brainer that when i purchased a new ipad I would be getting an otterbox case. Thrilled with the protection it provides and was looking forward to case to use a study tool to place at an angle. It is amateur at best and always slips out of place and falls down. Getting it set in on the tray at an angle correctly is not an easy task either. TLDR: great protection, crappy functionality.

I love how it comes with a full hard shell, and the cover that clips on is great for protecting from screen damage when it's in my flight bag. I have already dropped my iPad, and it remained undamaged. I have an otterbox case for my phone also, and I recommend this brand to everyone.

I love this case. I can carry my coffee all around the house and never stop holding my iPad. You know what happens if you let your phone go?The same thing happens with the ipad so, i never let it go. im charging and im haveing good times but, i have my drink and my ipad..This is engenius to add a drinkholder on the ipad case. i can turn it over and slice my fruits on it too, or have a sandwich. I AM very impressed with this case.. it is verY heavy duty, makes your ipad look butch too.

I've had otterbox defenders for years. This thing makes me never want to buy another OtterBox product again. The experience I just had with their customer service pretty much cemented the deal. The case itself fits onto the iPad like a normal defender, with an internal snap-together clamshell and then a wrap-around rubber jacket that holds it all together and provides the drop protection. As others have mentioned, the apple pencil door is very flimsy, opens when I don't want it to, and is an obvious failure point. I have no idea why every case available has to account for the stupid apple pencil - I have no desire to use it, yet it's nearly impossible to find a case that ignores it. My biggest complaint is the "screen protector". I put that in quotes because it's nothing of the sort. It has giant holes in it which defeats the whole purpose, and as others have reported, it sits above the screen enough that every touch feels like you're pushing through a flexible membrane. The holes let dust, grime, and moisture into that gap, which means that after you've used it outside a few times, every touch feels "crunchy" as the sand particles scratch your ipad screen with every gesture. There's nothing "defender" about this other than the printing on the box and the "look". After a few months trying to give it the benefit of the doubt, I finally had to literally put tape over these holes to keep the crap out during an excursion. This morning I called customer support. All the negative reviews of this product are followed up by the company saying "oh jeez, you must be the only one that doesn't love this product, please call our customer service and we will work it out for you!" Well, I called. I was greeted with a message about being #68 in line to talk to a human and that the estimated wait was 17 minutes. After waiting 22 minutes, I got a nice lady that did not speak english. She barely understood what I was saying, but kept trying to upsell me to some other case that didn't even remotely resemble the same thing as the defender (but did cost more). I eventually got frustrated and hung up. After giving them lots and lots of money over the years, I guess I'm done. Really sad to see a formerly-beloved brand fall to being total garbage.

Very strong case with as close to a glove like fit you can get from a product built for protection. This case has saved my iPhone 13 at least 4 times from drops onto hard surfaces that would definitely have broke the phone.
