Dritz Deluxe Chalk Hem Marker with Chalk Powder

When I received my chalk hem marker there was a defective part. Made contact and to my surprise they replaced the complete unit without any hassle from Amazon or WAWAK. I am impressed with the service, also the second hem marker works perfectly. I would recommend this Chalk Hem Marker to anyone wanting a hem marker. Way to go Amazon and WAWAK!!!!!!

I’ve been using this chalk with my Dritz hem marker for many years. Saves lots of time and is very accurate. My brides love that they don’t have to stand still for long periods of time while I accurately mark their hem length. Yes, the white chalk can be seen on white and ivory fabric. I do add safety pins on net/tulle layers as a precaution because they can be difficult to see. On these layers I will chalk and pin as I go along because my dritz chalk marker still gives the most accurate placing.

This was so helpful for me! I needed to hem a chiffon dress, but the original hem was really uneven. I thought I would have to make a pattern in order to shorten the dress with a straight hem. This tool was like magic to create a straight hem. I’m giving it 4 stars because it arrived broken. The rubber tube was broken. But it was a very easy fix.

I had a multi-layer chiffon dress that needed hemming. The dress was originally dragging on the floor and uneven on one side, and the skirt layers are very full. If I were to try and hem it by folding and pinning, I would lose my mind trying to get everything even! With this hem marker, all you have to do adjust it where you want off of the floor and squeeze, and it does a line. For the fabric I used, it went through all 3 layers! It creates a line, and you fold and press along that line, and do your narrow rolled hem from there. When I was done, the hem looked so straight! Well worth it.

I was very excited about this, but chalk dispenser part is impossible to open to put chalk in. I think I have a defective one. Unfortunately the return window closed before i checked to see if this was working. :(

I’m a costumer so I sew a lot. This makes hemming so much easier and precise! You need a dress form to use and is especially helpful if you are draping vs using a pattern.

I remember decades ago there was something like this that you could mark a hem with. This is not nearly as good as that was. I couldn't use it by myself, which was why I bought it. But my friend couldn't do it with me either. She would squeeze the bulb, but sometimes it came out in a clump, and other times she had to squeeze it several times. I returned it and for about a tenth of the price I got a hem ruler that works fine.
