Precision in compact size
This is a very finely made grinder. It has step settings when the body is rotated and each step locks in its designated notch with a feel of a Swiss watch. The handle/lid fits exactly in the top and there is no wiggle or play. The handle is well balanced and aligned so that when empty, the handle spins around 5 or 6 times before coming to a rest. When grinding, the handle does not slip out of place, which is something I have experienced with other hand grinders. The wood knob is well crafted and finished and overall this grinder has a high-quality look and feel. The hopper is small and holds about one double shot of espresso beans. Please see photos for bean capacity-I filled the body up to full and then poured out on the table for photo.I set the grind on the lowest setting “5” and ground the entire contents. This took about 370 easy turns. The resulting grind was quite even and very fine. It produced a 30-second shot on my espresso machine. Note that per the instructions, grind settings below 5 are safety to protect the burrs and will not grind any coffee. This, 5 is the lowest setting. This is a great small grinder that would be ideal for travel as it is a single-serve grinder. However, is not stepless. The lowest setting is clearly suitable for espresso and the highest setting “11” looks to be good for pour over but still too fine for French press. Pouring the “11” grounds through a sieve yields some fines.Note that no coffee grinder is a “Jack of all trades” and suitable for any type of coffee grinding from French press to espresso. Even high-end commercial espresso grinders costing upwards of $1000 or more cannot grind French press well. Therefore know what type of coffee you plan to grind before shopping for a grinder. Also, a great way to save money on an espresso set up is to go with the hand grinder. It saves a lot of space and some purists insist the best grind is achieved with a hand grinder because of the low RPM and no resulting motor heat. This grinder is best suited for espresso. One more reminder-for the best coffee experience, be mindful of the “rule of 15”- coffee should be consumed within 15 days of its roast date and within 15 minutes of being ground.

Only one level works well
Tbh, the only level that works well is 5 (for me). They're supposed to range based on selection (1-9) but anything other than 5 produces a fine grain. Can't really get course grounds like I'd prefer. Overall meets the immediate need and is very well built but functionality is not all the way there.

Great Feel - Variable Size
This thing can go like, ESPRESSO fine, but holy moly is it going to take a year and a half to grind it.I tried it at the finest setting before I read the instructions which say "DO NOT USE THE FINEST SETTING" (oops) I guess the "useable" range is like 4 - 15 (the dial goes from 1-10 so that was confusing a bit)But the feel is great, it's as heavy as you want a quality product to be. The metal on metal feels elegant and it doesn't scrape at all. The handle moves smoothly and I just really ENJOY using this grinder.MAIN DOWN SIDE: The capacity is small. Like 20g of coffee can fit into the grinder at once. So you'll likely have to grind multiple times.-As a "backup" or a portable grinder I think this is fantastic. If you want this as a daily coffee grinder - I would recommend getting something with a higher capacity unless you have a LOT of time to spare in the mornings.

High-quality grinder
I got this for myself to use as a back up when I need to grind beans for a single up, but it is definitely high-quality enough to make a nice gift. This thing just feels nice to hold and feel. Taking the top off and putting it back on is honestly a pleasure… It magnetically snaps perfectly into place. The grind is smooth and you can feel the quality construction when unscrewing the bottom to get the grounds.

a bit small
the grinder could only grind a limited amount of coffee for once (18g), keep that in mind
