I have been looking for a better way to make good, strong flavoursome coffee to replace my french press which, frankly, is messy & not so easy to clean. I saw this, not expensive, so I gave it a go. I have been all round impressed. I didn’t believe it was paper free so I did buy some filter papers, more fool me, completely unnecessary. This is so neat and clever and made from good quality stainless steel and fits on my mug comfortably & is easy to clean. I recycle the grinds (we recycle food waste here in Powys) & then swill under the cold tap. Brilliant. Highly recommended. Very good value for money & makes great coffee!

Used it many times, only concern is that the water trickles through too quickly, I’ve tried different sizes of coffee grounds and it always goes through a bit too quickly, I recommend adding two layers of coffee paper filters into it to prevent it from going through too quickly, size is perfect for your standard mug, could fit a bigger one too, very durable as made out of strong material, overall good value for your money.

Bought this for work as I only drink Decaf coffee, and the Coffee machine only does awful instant Decaf. I use a 440ml Travel mug and this fits perfectly on top. To get the strength I like I put 3 30ml level spoons of coffee in the filter then pour my boiled water over the coffee. You do need to take your time when pouring the water as it does take a while for the water to filter through and I need to fill it a couple of times to fill my flask. The insulated handle helps with removing the filter from the mug, to put aside for the rest of the water to filter through the coffee "sludge". I then come back 30-50mins later and bang the filter against the bin to empty, a quick rinse under the tap and its clean for another use. very handy, very simple way to make lovely coffee. No need for paper filters. I would recommend the larger filter if you are making more than a standard mug/cup of coffee.

I ordered the larger size for my decaf, my family all use the French Press. It’s fine and does the job well but even using a standard measurement of coffee I find it on the chilly side by the time it’s filtered through. I do like my coffee strong and black as well so the addition of milk would probably make this unusable for me.

The coffee tasted smoother than using paper filters. The paper filters were becoming expensive and our local whole food shop were having problems getting regular supplies. The Kerry Coffee Filter, long term is better for the environment.
