GM Genuine Parts 12135037 Multi-Function Diode

I have several older model vehicles. Both With AGM type batteries, however the original electrical system and alternator were designed for the original flooded lead cell acid battery design. This diode is a game changer in improving the performance of the charging system on these older vehicles. So that the AGM battery can fully charge. This diode fits with some very minor modifications . You have to trim away some of the plastic casing around the diode so that it will fit in to the fuse slot correctly . Performs well in my vehicles, 89 & 97 Toyota land Cruisers.

I bought this as a cheap upgrade, that I read about online, for my 2004 Toyota 4runner’s alternator output. Now, when I’m driving, my alternator puts out 14.5-14.6 V and keeps the battery fully charged.

I installed a Odessey Extreme AGM in my 4runner, my battery voltage monitor never showed anything above 13.8ish while driving, per the manufacturer spec sheet/forums the voltage needs to be 14.5-14.8ish to fully charge AGMs. This GM diode installed in the fuse box that is located in the engine bay has bumped the charging voltage up, and now I mostly see it at 14.5 or a little above, the battery seems to be performing better as well. I will add the original fuse inline for good measure soon.

Work for great what I needed

I had replaced my battery with a agm battery and was getting lower than desired voltage with it. I filed down the sides of this to fit perfectly where my alt-s fuse was. Started with no errors. If you do get an error it's because it is directional specific.

Brand name Diode to replace your Alternator Fuse to enable more voltage charge for AGM Batteries if your vehicle needs to handle the correct charge. The diode needs to be trimmed to fit in the fuse ALT slot. Not all vehicles need this slight voltage adjustment. replaced my alternator fuse with this diode in my old Toyota to increase voltage output as i run AGM style batteries. will work with 3 wire alternators. this diode is the size of a mini fuse, but will fit in an ATC size fuse holder
