More than 5 Stars
I don't think I have had such anticipation for a new album being released since the 1973 release of 'Goodbye Yellow Brick Road' by Elton John which for me didn't let me down, but the release of 'Classic Diamonds' by Neil Diamond with the London Symphony Orchestra today has probably equalled that album all those years ago.In Particular the song 'Heartlight' which I feel epitomises all the songs on the album and how the magnificent symphony arrangements take you to another place and time.Neil Diamonds voice is also particularly strong, and fresh, not copied from the original Songs.

A stunningly beautiful noise
Rather than simply knock out arrangements similar to those we already know, Diamond has reinterpreted some of his most well known songs with a rich and imaginative orchestral backing.Holly Holly is just astounding - let it flow through you. There HAS to be a volume 2 as Diamond has many more songs that could be represented like this. The whole album is reminiscent of The Movie Album. The man himself has lost none of his charismatic baritone - even coming up to 80.This is a stunningly beautiful noise!Fantastic!!!!

Classic Diamonds, Sparkle, a musical extravaganza.
So now I have Classic Diamonds, this is not a symphonic trick, with 40 year old vocals and a symphony orchestra added years later. This is a majestically crafted work of art. Which is rather superb, I myself enjoy beautiful noises, if you have a musical ear and can appreciate the work and dedication that has gone into this concept, buy it and enjoy. A CLASSIC, and a DIAMOND.
