Excellent Perfomance at a Very Reasonable Price
I've had this product a few weeks. This is based upon initial use and thus, does not address the longevity of the sensor. I recently upgraded to a new and larger gun safe. I decided to get serious about keeping it dry. Previously I had some of the Evadry rechargeable dehumidifiers but was not monitoring the humidity and temp. When I got the new safe I put in some electric dehumidifier rods and backed them up with the silica dehumidifiers. Anyway, I put this Hornady Bluetooth sensor in the safe. I then decided I was not sure whether to trust the readings without verifying the accuracy. So I got a Sensorpush HT.w Bluetooth sensor as well. For the past 2 days I have been comparing the readings several times and I am happy to say they are both the same. I usually monitor my Hornady sensor from my office, which is pretty close to the safe, and the signal is plenty strong within ten feet and one fire wall of the safe. The unit paired as soon as it was powered on and I have had no problems so far. It allows you to toggle between the conditions at the display unit itself as well as the remote sensor (the one in the safe). So far I am very pleased with the performance and I would consider it a very good value at $28 versus nearly three times that for the sensor I checked it against. I will probably use one sensor in my firearms safe and the other in my ammo safe in the future now that I am confident in their performance.

Must have for safes
Works great. A little trouble with connection but was able to remove the issue easily.

Awesome way to monitory humidity and temp
Having the sensor inside the safe with the reader on the outside means I don’t have to open the door to check the humidity which is nice because in doing so you let humidity in! Good product and I’m glad I went with this.

Easy setup
The setup was very easy.Just put in the batteries and the sensor and unit will pair automatically. It’s nice to know what the “weather conditions” inside the safe are without having to open it.The magnets seem a little weak, but it’s staying in place so far.I will update this review should the hygrometer fail any time soon., but it seems well built, and I’m not expecting any problems.

Seems to be accurate.
I did a side by side comparison of this device with 2 other similar units and it seems to be accurate. The remote unit also transmit through my gun safe.

There are better options out there for the same price.
Upon arrival, the 2 magnets for the remote unit had fallen out of it. The remote unit failed to pair with the base unit no matter what trouble shooting steps I took. I left both in the safe overnight thinking I had possibly not given it enough time to pair. The next morning the base unit froze and became unresponsive to input. I pulled the battery and tried again, resulting in the same outcome. I replaced this unit with a different brand and have had great success so far with that one. I originally bought one of these when I bought my safe, and 3 years later it needed to be replaced so I figured I would go with the same one. The build quality on the Hornady meter feels cheap and I will not be buying one from them again.

Eats batteries.
Eats batteries. Should have a plug in option. Other than that it works as it should.

Review
Good hydrometer. Easy to setup has nice features to leave the remote in the gun safe and you put reader on the outside of your safe. So you don't have to open it to see humidity. My only complaints are the magnets on the back are weak and can slide down on your safe and I wish you could use Bluetooth to check it without having to walk up to it. I would still recommend this product.
