Excellent little red light
From our experience thus far, it works well for us during night hikes and activities. It is bright, but yet still appropriate for our nighttime excursions and the price was right.

Great for camping in Zion
Anyone who has ever visited Zion knows how much emphasis the park places on reducing light pollution, as it's an international dark sky park. (Well, you would think anyone who visits Zion knows that, but judging from my recent visit I would argue that's actually a very small percentage. I digress.) Due to this fact, Zion recommends visitors bring red LED flashlights for nighttime use, to protect your night vision and prevent others from having their night views interrupted. In researching my different options, I came across the WAYLLSHINE High Power Red LED Flashlight.I found this flashlight to be a great tool - it's bright, only takes one AA battery, and is well-built. While others have argued that it's too bright, I found it to be perfect for walking around Zion at night. I prefer hand flashlights over headlights since you can control the beam a bit easier, and as long as you're not waving the flashlight all around it works to illuminate without overwhelming your surroundings. I also appreciate that it only has the red LED, so I could turn it on and off without having to worry about switching.I would highly recommend this flashlight, especially if you're going to be in an environment where night vision is important. Enjoy the stars while you can everyone!

Pretty bright even with the standard AA batteries
I bought this for use in my night flight training, and will likely get a different one if I continue to do night flights. It worked well enough during my training, though it was easy to fumble around with it since it only had a tiny clip and nowhere I could really put it when I wasn't using it.It was also way too bright for me inside the airplane, and did impact my night vision at least once or twice from the shock of its initial light. It certainty wasn't as disruptive as a normal flashlight would have been, though. If it wasn't so uncomfortable for my (admittedly rather sensitive) eyes, then I would just buy a wrist strap for it and keep using it for reading my charts, but I think I might have to put this one up on the shelf. It was a pretty good price for what it was, though.

Small and well made
Small size but the quality clip makes it easy to hook on a belt or similar feature. Solid build and very simple to operate. Quick beam focus - 2" to 2' wide beam from 2' distance. Bright intense red illumination even with low powered AA battery. Adequate for most near proximity lighting. May be a bit too bright for some astronomy viewing workspace areas but placing a finger over the lens easily allows control over brightness.

Great value!
Fantastic little red flashlight. Very bright for the price and extremly simple to use. I've had it 2 years now no issues.

Bright, Compact & Camping-Ready: Perfect for Star Parties
I picked up this little red LED flashlight for camping and astronomy—and for such a compact tool, it punches way above its weight. The red light preserves night vision, so when I’m tuning my telescope or walking to the back of the campsite, I stay under the celestial glow without ruining my dark-adapted eyes. It’s rugged and solid—dropped it a few times into dirt and gravel, and it’s still going strong. With a beam that reaches around 150 yd/200 lumens, it’s great for illuminating charts, gear, or even signaling in the wilderness.Used it at multiple star parties: no glare, no complaints—just red glow guiding you under the Milky Way. Super strong in a tiny package that’s earned regular space in my gear pouch. Highly recommend for campers, amateur astronomers, and anyone who wants practical night lighting without the white-light blot-outs.

Great value and works.
Great price, great product. Much brighter than the $30 jobs listed as Veinfinders. I have very deep veins and go to the ER a lot and got tired of being poked 3+ times for them to find a vein.. You still need to darken the room a bit but even I can see my arm veins CLEARLY with this light.

On - Off Mechanism
Seemed very sturdy and well crafted. Worked very well for a month and then on-off mechanism became unreliable. Light eventually would not turn on.
