Fantastic deal
The wick based humidifiers, noise notwithstanding, are far superior to their ultrasonic counterparts due to the effectiveness and precision in controlling true relative humidity. I use vinegar, a cup to enough water to immerse the filter in a bucket not much wider than the filter diameter. The vinegar does away with the brown mineral deposits, and makes it as good and efficient as when new. Never let the water in the tank run out, and these filters, with weekly vinegar treatment, will last up to two months each. When the plastic housing begins to wear out, it is also about time you changed the filter. Folks who gave this product a low rating based on extraneous factors to do with the noise of the main unit should know better. These reviews are about the filter and not the main unit! Also, despite the antimocrobial properties, some mold formation is inevitable in humid environments, so I clean the main unit every few months with basic G, a shaklee product that destroys any mildew or mold residual in the unit, this includes the grille and the fan components.

this filter is for a cool mist humidifier that is light-years ahead of the old fashioned cool mist humidifier that has the plast
The first time I saw the homes Machine That these filters fit Was when my son came back Carrying It in his hand Comma And giving the receipt and charge card back to his mother. We were looking to replace The ubiquitous cool mist Humidifier That's been in use since Moses was a pup. Well This turned out to be a good bit more expensive And we were considering Sending it back Comma But something stopped us And we used it It was The best vaporizer We have ever used. Changing the filter Is simple. The filters aren't too bad and price Comma But the great thing about it is that they have some sort of Antibacterial antifungal chemical And our water Here at home For some reason promotes the growth of this Slime mold. Well not with these filters. And we don't have to keep using up Pipe cleaner To try and clean out the stem The good old fashioned Cool mist humidifier. I'll stick with homes We actually bought A second one We change the filters on each one twice a winter, it's not that bad an expense And because it's a filter not only does it humidify the air but it cleans the air So All around you get a much better experience

Worked well, but not as long as OEM
I use these during the winter in my humidifier. I end up with calcium deposits forming quite fast on mine due to my hard water and at the price they charge for a replacement, I try to clean the filters rather than replace them monthly using a vinegar bath. The OEM one lasted two years before it stopped absorbing water. This lasted one year/season. Not sure why it happened but I imagine that it's related to the fiber structure for the capillary action. The acid in the vinegar erodes fibers every time I wash it and it likely resulted in eventual failure due to that.

Fits multiple sunbeam units- lasts 3-4 months for my country home
Works great with our sunbeam humidifier. These filters seem to fit multiple units but "A" works with our 2 option sunbeam Humidifier in case anyone else has the same and is curious which one fits. Lasts about 3-4 months for us BUT we live on a ton of acreage and get lots of wind and dirt out here. Still lasts longer than most have!

Works Great!
I purchased these to replace the stock filter in my Sunbeam 1100 humidifier. I have an old wood stove and it's dry almost all winter in my little house. I also have 2 cats, so the filter collects a lot of dust and I need to replace them about every 6 months. These filters were a great price and fit perfect. I will continue to purchase these from Amazon.

Holmes Humidifier Filter - HWF62
The quality is very good, it came with a very secure box to protect the shape of the filter. Each filter can last for 3 months if you maintain in good cleaning. I usually ordered this kind of filter in a cheaper price at other store, but I found out that its quality was not as good as "Homes". I am very satisfied with this purchase and will buy it again when I need it.

Good filters
I have used these filters before, this time I got the Holmes bacteriostat humidifier treatment to go along with it. These do not last more than a few weeks with regular everyday use. At $10.00 a filter that adds up quickly. I'm hopeful to see how they last longer with the treatment. The filter itself is a sturdier model than some of the less expensive filters out there, but it doesn't perform any better.

It's thin like others have noted
There has been a redesign of these filters. Gone are the thick filters that used to work great. The new filters are about 1/2 as thick and work about 1/2 as good in humidifying the air. I called to manufacturer and they told me:"We have many Honeywell units that use the HAC-504AW filter, and unfortunately, due to the filter thickness we had several units that were having a lot of trouble fitting the wet filter. There were many accounts where the filter would cause the tank or housing not to sit correctly, where it would get caught on an internal humidifier part, or where it would absorb more water than the fan could take off of it efficiently".I say to that, I don't care. Give me the thick filter and I'll deal with the rest. Too bad this option does not exist. Actually I think this is just BS. Probably they found a way to cut costs, and they figured no one would notice or care.So the new thinner filter in fact does work, so it's not a complete loss. On the low setting, you can refill the water once a day.HUGE TIP HERE: Don't keep buying filters to replace dirty ones. First gently rinse them with warm soapy water. Next let it soak in a small bucket with warm water and a little bleach. Now rinse and replace. You may smell a touch of bleach for a day or so, but it will go away.
