Love these filters
I’ve had these a while. My original Berkey filters that I’ve had for at least 5 years were not working great. But I was afraid to get rid of them and try the new ones I got. But I bit the bullet and put them in today. OMG! I love them. I had to prime them which was easy. My water now tastes wonderful. And I have well water. I don’t know what the filter is doing but I love the taste of my water once again. The price was excellent so if it only lasts a few months I’ll be satisfied. I’m so thankful they’re working well.

Not bad!
I bought these filters about a week ago because I listened to some guy on YouTube who shared a tutorial about how to clean the filters with baking soda, I don't think it was a good idea because my filters just stopped filtering, I installed the fluoride filters I had as a back up thinking that would solve the problem, but priming them was a problem, I'm talking about the original Berkey fluoride filters, as least I thought they were original since I paid a pretty penny for them and they came with the Berkey, the water just wasn't filtering no matter how many times I tried to prime them, I tried to contact C/S from the info I had on the order receipt they told me they were Berkey Dealers and I didn't buy from them, I soon realize there were a ton of Berkey dealers out there using a ton of different logos, it was horrible to even imagine I paid close to $400 for a water filter I thought was legit I've only had it for two years, I thought about donating it but when I realize the fake filters will always be out there I decided to keep it, let it rest for a while and try something else, water distiller, and all the rest, it was so many I became confused about who to trust, I started buying that expensive Mountain Spring water in the green glass bottle I felt better about that as I'm not into plastic if I can help it, SO! After a process of elimination I decided to get these filters, good price, not much of a loss if they didn't do the job, I had to get something fast, I got that stinky New York tap water filled my Berkey and waited, and guess what? NO stinky chlorine smell whatsoever, I filtered three or more gallons still smelling clean, I stuck with my mountain Spring water for drinking tho, because these filters don't remove fluoride, I decided to get the fluoride filters from this same company, only to realize my worse nightmare had came through, in BIG bold letters in red printed on the plastic bag they came in, MADE IN CHINA!! I don't support ANYTHING that was made in China even though that leaves me with not much options, I'm just frightened to trust them with ANYTHING, I put my mask on to place the item back into the package, that's how fearful I am of them, lol, and I'm planning to return it......The black filters are made from charcoal/ coconut, they're not dense you can hear the water filtering out, these fluoride filters are white and dense you don't know what kind of chemicals/toxins were used in the process of creating them to filter fluoride which is a very complex process, all in all I love these black filters....

Lacks quality
Junk, not a good product. Seemed okay at first but a few weeks of use the flavor is off and I doubt it is filtering water to a high level

No more bottled water
Of course Berkey website was out of filters and Amazon had them at a fourth of the price, easy to install, looking forward to not buying not buying bottled water anymore

Clear kettle water after boiling multiple times.
Definitely cleared the Denver tap water!! I could tell bc we use it in our tea kettle and when you boil the water a few times it will start to get a calcium deposit and some kind of clear glass floating in the kettle... After installing the filter the water stays clear until it’s about time to change the filter again. So it definitely helps!! It does last just about 5-6 months if you wash it regularly annd ant end of life the bottom of the filter kinda turns brown and it rubs off on your fingers which is quite gross. And it fits in my 1.5 gallon berkey.
