Worth every penny for new grass and maintenance grass!
This is one of the few items i am willing to give 5 stars. It has worked very well and was not as hard to set up as i expected, little bit of a learning curve, but after learning it was easy and was definitely worth it. I use it to water my putting/chipping green area. The chipping area with longer grass doesn't need watered as often but is large enough to need 2 zones, so i can set one zone to the left half and the other zone to water the right half, then the putting green also gets 2 zones which i can have it water more frequently. And being able to set it to turn on multiple times per day for short periods of time is so beautiful for new putting green grass. It made my life so much easier. I am a person that can always find fault with something and this multi-zone water timer i just find a hard time finding fault with!

PERFECT for my fall rye overseed
This system worked perfectly for both sides of my home. I was able to systematically water in my fall ryegrass which needs very consistent watering during the germination process. This Melnor kept me on track and fully automated the process. I like how it has easy controls and once you get the hang of it dialing in your schedule isn't too difficult. Just make sure you take it in during the winter. I've never had one of these sprinkler systems survive outside in the winter but ymmv.

Good timer, need to watch you tube to learn programming, and screen doesn't go to sleep
This timer works great once it's setup. The programming (as others have said), it tricky, but watch youtube and in a few minutes you'll understand the method. The only thing I don't like, is our old Melnor 2 zone used to go to 'sleep' until a button was pushed. Meaning the LCD screen wasn't active. This one is constantly cycling, meaning I don't know if the battery will last an entire season. We'll see.

Bought 2, both failed
I bought my first one summer of 2022. Worked fine that summer. Summer of 2023 while I was away for over a week I came home to a swamp of a garden because it failed to shut off. I contacted the company and all they did was give me troubleshooting tips but I didn't have time to mess with that in hot August weather so I ordered another one. I tried to take extra care with the new one covering it with an upside down bucket while it was in my garden, unhooked it and put it in my shed over winter. Got it out this month (May 2024) and hooked it up and water is leaking out all 4 zones and the part that hooks to the hose. Ran all the troubleshooting I could find to no avail. Contacted the company--and I know they got my email because I got an email notifying me they got it and they have never responded...2 weeks later! We threw it in trash and I bought a different brand even though I had to reconfigure how I had my zones hooked up in my garden. Very disappointing for an expensive water timer. It basically lasted 2 months on the second one. I do not recommend it at all. Also, others complained about the same thing, the leaking out of the zones--there's even a video in the reviews and mine was doing the exact same thing. This has to be a manufacture failure. The company should own up to it and make it right.

Works great, easy to set
Much easier to set than the other nasty brand that I returned. This is really nice. We water twice a day on both outputs. At end of our Wisconsin summer the batteries were still about 80 percent good yet!

Phenomenal Customer Service
I purchased this unit almost two years ago, and it has operated daily in the Arizona desert sun with no problem. Programming is easy once you get the hang of it. Display easy to see in the direct sunlight. Recently, one of the zones stopped functioning (valve would not shift). I really didn't expect it to be covered under warranty, but I contacted customer service, suppling the requested information, and almost immediately received an email saying I would receive a new one in 5-7 business days. They did not want the old one back!

First one broke, I bought a second because I needed it
My first copy of this device broke at the inlet when I pulled on a hose. To prevent that, the second copy is now mounted with a short hose to the spigot to relieve strain, and the four outlet hoses are staked to the ground to prevent them from pulling on the timer. I wish the timer was just made more durably in the first place. For the price, I would expect this timer to have Bluetooth, or better: Home Assistant compatible Zigbee connectivity. As it is, I go outside, through the spiderwebs, to bend down and fiddle with the buttons anytime I need to turn on a hose or change a timer. I have a similar Melnor Bluetooth water timer on another outlet, but that model doesn't seem to be available anymore, probably for... reasons. Software seems a little flaky, valves on it don't always turn on when they're supposed to - especially in cold (like 45F) weather. Otherwise, this one works - no sticky valve problems that I have noticed, battery life is decent - the first device ran almost 2 years on its first set of batteries before it broke, I hope this one is similar.

bought before and they work well -- better than any other brands

I did not give it 5 stars because the output connections should conform to european standards not USA, it is hard to find hoses the fit this, otherwise I am satisfied.
