Essential item for Lawncare!
Building a new hose and starting a lawn from scratch, this 4 zone hose timer was an absolute necessity for fall overseeding. Although it might seem overly complicated upon first look, the programming was very simple and intuitive to create and build. The design was very sturdy and angled hose connections on the outside allow for easy connections as I needed to use all 4. I ran the unit for several weeks across the fall calendar and saw no leakage. Overall, after comparing against many other options, I felt the value for the price was extremely worth it.

Phenomenal Customer Service
I purchased this unit almost two years ago, and it has operated daily in the Arizona desert sun with no problem.Programming is easy once you get the hang of it. Display easy to see in the direct sunlight.Recently, one of the zones stopped functioning (valve would not shift). I really didn't expect it to be covered under warranty, but I contacted customer service, suppling the requested information, and almost immediately received an email saying I would receive a new one in 5-7 business days. They did not want the old one back!

4th Purchase and Changes by Melnor
This is the fourth time I have bought the Melnor 4 zone timer; this time to replace one that failed over the winter. This shipment is a bit unusual in that the unit did not come in original factory packaging. I will place it in service today. Overall I do note Melnor has now changed from stainless steel construct to all plastic.

Great water timer
I made a mistake of not removing my previous melnor timer before winter came. If left on, it will crack when you try it again come spring. I liked this timer so much I ordered it again.I needed 4 separate timers and this fits the purpose. The timer options are various, per day, week, times of days, etc.. Each one is programable. I find this to be reliable and always activates according to the schedule.I will not forget to remove it this time before winter.

Bought 2, both failed
The media could not be loaded. I bought my first one summer of 2022. Worked fine that summer. Summer of 2023 while I was away for over a week I came home to a swamp of a garden because it failed to shut off. I contacted the company and all they did was give me troubleshooting tips but I didn't have time to mess with that in hot August weather so I ordered another one. I tried to take extra care with the new one covering it with an upside down bucket while it was in my garden, unhooked it and put it in my shed over winter. Got it out this month (May 2024) and hooked it up and water is leaking out all 4 zones and the part that hooks to the hose. Ran all the troubleshooting I could find to no avail. Contacted the company--and I know they got my email because I got an email notifying me they got it and they have never responded...2 weeks later! We threw it in trash and I bought a different brand even though I had to reconfigure how I had my zones hooked up in my garden. Very disappointing for an expensive water timer. It basically lasted 2 months on the second one. I do not recommend it at all. Also, others complained about the same thing, the leaking out of the zones--there's even a video in the reviews and mine was doing the exact same thing. This has to be a manufacture failure. The company should own up to it and make it right.

Automatic - Easy - Watering
It's a water timer. Easy to read instructions and a well-recommended timer that you can find many videos for. I love that I can set up to four zones and have water automatically turn on/off for each zone. I like the manual feature, as I have one hand held hose hooked up to one of the spouts, so that I can use it to hand water. This saves a lot of time over filling up a watering pail.

First one broke, I bought a second because I needed it
My first copy of this device broke at the inlet when I pulled on a hose. To prevent that, the second copy is now mounted with a short hose to the spigot to relieve strain, and the four outlet hoses are staked to the ground to prevent them from pulling on the timer. I wish the timer was just made more durably in the first place. For the price, I would expect this timer to have Bluetooth, or better: Home Assistant compatible Zigbee connectivity. As it is, I go outside, through the spiderwebs, to bend down and fiddle with the buttons anytime I need to turn on a hose or change a timer. I have a similar Melnor Bluetooth water timer on another outlet, but that model doesn't seem to be available anymore, probably for... reasons. Software seems a little flaky, valves on it don't always turn on when they're supposed to - especially in cold (like 45F) weather.Otherwise, this one works - no sticky valve problems that I have noticed, battery life is decent - the first device ran almost 2 years on its first set of batteries before it broke, I hope this one is similar.

Excellent water timer
We're currently on our second season with this timer and it's very impressive. Very easy to program, each zone can have its own schedule and manual watering is a cinch if needed. I highly recommend this water timer especially if you have different zones that have different watering needs.
